I sucked so bad!! Kept missing gates! Tires were cold. Was a lot of fun though.

Hopefully, after a couple of events and practice, I can get a bit more aggresive through the cones..

Will probably stick to events in Everett tho. Bremerton is too far, and the car sits too low to get on the ferry...

No doubt..

The first part of the course was really confusing. I had a pro ride with me on my last run just so I could have a clean run. Plus, in the first 2 runs, I was trying to shift, when I later learned it was best to remain in 2nd throughout the course. Makes so much sense now...

I can really see the addiction potential in getting track tires and such. Just gonna sniff things out and get the hang of it this year.

glad to hear that you still had fun...for autoX competetions, it's key to learn the whole course before you ever drive it; also, the firs tfew times you go, you'll pick up a lot of how to read the course and know where you're supposed to go.

AWD is a lot of fun for AutoX...I've driven a friend's STI and it was a blast! Hope to see you at more events

goto: www.wwscc.org and click their schedule link.

look at the "13 Sunday WWSCC ACE Championship #2 - Dogfight '07" ...sometime soon, they'll add a little blue "i" icon that you can click onto to sign up. As of now, it's not there yet, but registration usualy opens up 1-2 weeks prior to the event.

*I just got back from the doctors and it looks like I tore some ankle cartlige (sp?) while I was playing softball yesterday...I'm getting old ! I have this huge plastic boot on...luckily it's my left foot, so I can still autoX!

FTL! Luckily my left foot isn't in a hard cast, so I'm either going to take off the plastice boot for autoX, or just drive w/ it on...either way, I usualy get into 2nd gear just past the starting lights and stay there for the whole course - just hope it isn't a weird course.

The main reason I have the plastic boot is to allow the cartlige to heal properly and quicker...I don't think 3 50s runs would hurt it (but I'm a little biased...my wife already gave me a bad look when I told her I was still going to the autoX )

Dude... you are so hard core, it makes me shead a tear. You're the stuff a true racer is made outta. Man! I wish there were more guys like you driving Z's!

Will you be able to make the course walks? What's the outlook for the boot in about 10 days from now?

do you need an ankle brace? i have a brace that has lateral stiffeners with laces and velcro bindings. makes walking a lot easier even with injury. its true that after a period of RICE you have to begin movement in the injured area. i had my share of joint injuries from my volleyball tournaments. let me know if u need it and i'll bring it next time.

I'll do course walks w/ the plastic boot...wonder if I can get away w/ a wheel chair - I could go faster and would be at more of a Z height

I might take you up on that...can you wear a normal show w/ the brace? I'm going back to the doctors next Thursday, I'm thinking they'll also give me one at some point.

so far the worst part is having to sleep w/ this thing on...the leg w/ the boot gets so HOT!

yes you can wear a normal show with the lace-up brace. it ties to your foot nice and tight for 'compression'. sounds like its a pretty severe damage on the damage since ur using a rigid cast. mid-next week might be a good time to try on the ankle brace.

LOL

If you do, just remember Jerry Lamb ('06 NWR-SCCA president) and one or two other guys I've seen in the past, are parapalegics and do their course walks in wheelchairs, so you might wanna be careful on how you play it out to avoid offending anyone.

But I'm for anything that'll give First350 an advantage!

if you can walk that far then you don't need one for sure, I know those course walks can be grueling after 3 times with an injury!

here's the boot...maybe it'll be a blessing in disguish - instead of heel-toe down shifting (right foot on brake and throttle), I can left foot heel-toe the clutch and brake !
