PDX_Racer... care to do some explaining.
Getting a 275/35-18 Hoosier on a 8" wheel is one thing, but this is tougher by a whole level of magnitude since the wall stiffness on these 710's are stiffer and shorther than the Hoosiers.

The 710s, on the other hand, are a pain. 265/35R18 would be the best size, but Kumho doesn't make that. The only 18" sizes that are available are 245s (a bit narrow for the rear wheels) and 285s (a bit wide for the front wheels). I haven't tried the new Hoosier A6s yet, but I've read that they are still "33 run" tires on the Z (that's what I got -- with flipping at 18 runs -- out of my A3S05s). I'm also keeping an eye on first350z's Hankooks.

So far I have 37 runs on the Hankooks...I used a lot of runs for a few practices to get familair with them, but I'm saving the rest of the runs for WW championship events. (they look to be less than 40% worn, so I'm hoping for around 80-100 runs out of them)

first350 and I saw the course for Sunday yesterday. Looks to be better suited for short narrow cars, starts at the bottom, ends on the uphill part. Lots of slolaming, one cross in the beginning, doesn't really look like a lot of places to put down any real power though.

No, fairly staight forward, just a lot more steering wheel inputs required (not completely sure since I did not drive at the last event). There is also a 'choose your own path slalom' (aka: optional slalom) and another optional section near the section of the cross. It's hard to completely discribe but if you're speciality is, or you car is set-up is for slaloming, then you should be good for this course. Just gotta make that car dance around the cones.

purple pashin, are you signed up for AM or PM? I'll be there early in the morning...if you're there, I can walk the course w/ you - I don't have tons of experience, but might be able to give some pointers.

so you're not running?? This course looks to be much shorter and easier (in terms of getting lost)...I really doubt that it'll go long. If you come in the morning, you should be done by noon.

Well, I just stopped by Tight 'n Tidy Racing to pick up my tires -- 285/30R18 mounted on the stock Track wheels
.
The fronts look really pinched (and I do mean really pinched) but the rears actually don't look that bad.
The tread width differences on the fronts is maybe 1/4 inch -- but on the rears it is close to an inch. The diameter difference is almost exactly 1/4 inch (285s are 23 3/4 while 245s are 23 1/2).
Hmmm, maybe 245s front, 285s rear???

What about going for Hoosiers? Are you going for some kind of contingency sponsorship from Kumho?

Hoosiers last about 33 runs, Kumhos last well over 100 runs. I want to see how the Hankooks fare.
