^Nice! Congrats on the 1st place finish.

First350, Dkorr, Purple Pashin; how'd you guys do? I heard it started to rain in the 2nd part of the AM session.

Jeff Chin beat me w/ his 48.1s to my 48.3s ...about 3 mintutes before our run group, it started to pour down...I was the first car on course - lots of large puddles. It stopped raining about 1/2 way through our run group, but the course stayed wet the whole time. all of my runs had lots of under/over steer...it was fun, but kinda frsutrating that I couldn't open up the throttle. IMO, the S2K is much better in the rain b/c it's lighter and has better handling...the Z does well b/c of it's power...but w/ this kind of rain, 100 HP is all you needed!

In the end, I'm happy w/ my performance even though I got 2nd - I felt like I performed to my max (guess that means I just need more seat time )

here's a few shots:

It was wet for the first group in the PM then in the 2nd group we got like 1 run wet then it miraculously dried except for the big puddles where those dips are in the lot I got lost bad on the first run I missed a gate I don't know where lol... then second run I almost spun out twice because of the moisture on the ground.. that was crazy but fun. then my last run was a re-run because the vette in front of me on the 1st run I did got lost and I got flagged to stop. My last run was by far my best run and also was my only dry run!

Mark went faster this time, I think I heard him redline it a few times

BTW -- the trophies were sweet I soo needed a good tire pressure gauge !!

I'm guessing Purple Pashin did well. Noth'n better than AWD in the rain. I know the subie guys pray for rain before every event. I've even been witness once to that bizare ritual

Did Dkorr co-drive w/ you today? I'm guessing Jeff was on his R-comps too. Just so you know; it's legal to swap tires while in grid. If the skies ever open up like that unexpectedly, it's a strategy you could exercise. W/ 2 guys (or more if you can get the help) you could change back into your street tires by your 2nd run. Probably not possible for one guy to do unless he's planning on only getting 1/2 his car done (fronts most likely) - go out for one run - then do the other half.

I think that WW requires all four tires on the ground while in grid. I know that National-level events its not that unusual to see people with rain/street tires on one side and race tires on the other. Before their first run they make the decision which set of tires to use, and they swap that one side.

I know that by myself, I can change all four tires in less than 20 minutes -- including getting them off the trailer and getting all of the tools and jack out.

In addition to other guys; I've seen it done by Stacey Molleker do it, and Ron Bauer last year. Ron wasn't changing tires but attempting a last minute adjustment of the car while it was in grid requiring the front tires to come off.

Unless those guys have some kind of grace granted to them for being who they are, I think it's leg'it in WWSCC.

I timed myself once trying to do it as fast as possible and was able to get all wheels swapped in 15:34 (not torqued-to-spec though). I think w/ 2 guys that are coordinated well, know what they are doing and are moving lighting quick, w/ tools and tires ready as the car pulls into grid, it can be done in under 6 minutes. Not necessarily a pro-racing pit stop, but good enough for an autoX event to make the next run even if dual driving.

Yes I did co-drive with him today. His car drives and feels very different than mine. My car felt like a Camry after driving his. I've turned to the dark side of the force.

DKorr was doing really well for driving my Z for the 1st time (I think he does a better job at psoitioning the car close to cones w/out hitting them; I tend to leave more space)...it was a lot of fun to see it being driven from the outside. Only wish it was dry so that I could have heard it WOT.

Got lost the first run although the track was rather simple.

Did a bit better but did a lot of sliding with traction issues in the other runs. I think I have tire issues.

Good job Eric. Casually come out and re-register, then whip all our asses!! I hate you BTW!!

it took me a long time to be able to do my 1st run w/out getting lost...the first 5 times autoXing, it just looked like a sea of orange cones!

I think everyone was sliding...when I walked the course, I noticed a lot of oil on the ground (from parked cars during the week)...when it rained, I bet all the oil came up to the surface.

For WWSCC:
- Cat back exhaust
- Any dampeners (as long as it does not effect height ride height)
- Any drop in filter (must use stock airbox)
- Any Brake Pad
- Driver restraint equipment (as long as it does not effect structural rigidity)
- Any wheel (as long as it remains the stock diameter and width w/ +/- 0.25" offset
- Tires of any size w/ a tread wear of 200 or greater (DOT approved).
- Any front sway bar (rear must remain stock)

For more detials refer to the 2007 Handbook.

I'm pretty sure ST1 is just the normal stock class but with street tires and an index correction for the different stock classes. so you'd be limited to a front sway bar, adjustable shocks, and OE style intake filter. ...waiting for drivesolo to chime in w/ the definitive ruling...

ST1 is a very competative class. W/ the B Stock index against the Z, you will have to be considerably faster than most of the cars in your class. It's not uncommon for the fastest car in ST1 not to even trophy due to the PAX index.
