Here are results. SFR SCCA events are definitely more of a deep pool in terms of competition compared to UFO.

Scott, You should come out for the fun at SCCA event next weekend! Would be cool to have three Z's in the indexed class.

Sucks for me as I have to run ASP with SCCA until 370Z gets classed for Street Prepared. UFO has approved me running BSP where the car will likely end up once SCCA SEB finally gets around to classing the 370Z for street prepared. But my goal is to beat my Porsche buddies in the SS GT3's.

Here is the registration site for next weekends event.

Mannnn I am jealous of the winter racing you guys have. First opportunity I have to drive is instructing a school for BMW club on March 5th.....which is way earlier than I have ever seen a season start here.

I don't see your name on those sheets?

Looks like Chris would have won BSP! Are you guys in the "indexed class" because you aren't SCCA members?

The site shows that the event is Fri-Sun, and that there are 3 runs per day on Sat/Sun. How do the run groups work? I have another event on Sunday that I run in (private autox through my work), so it's not likely I can make this event anyway, but I'm not sure I understand how it works anyway. The site also says you have to be an SCCA member to run, yet there are fun runs for. ? . ? those not competing for points?

I didnt run this past weekend. Divisionals next weekend will be my first SCCA event this year. While I'm an SCCA member I dont typically do many local SCCA events. PCA lets me do lots more runs. I get 8 to 12 runs a day with them. Then I go to big SCCA Divisional and National tour events.

Indexed class is cool. It lets you run against all other fast cars using your pax index but its a class in itself. Nothing to do with membership status. So you signup in class you would usually run but your in indexed class using pax to determine your indexed time in the class.

Divisional events like next weekend require SCCA license.

Chris and I will have our work cut out for us next week. Suspect competition at the SFR Divisional will be very tough. I dont think I have ever seen an event of this status done so early in the season either! Argh! I have only driven my car once and now it will be completely different with LSD, A6's, new alignment. So no time to really get a feel for how it handles with new LSD. I just hope it doesnt push like a pig!

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll come out sometime and run indexed with you guys.

You got the new LSD (which one?), A6s (what size?), and alignment done already?

Divisional events are a genuine step up.....there was something like 12-15 jacket winners at the D.C. divisional last year. There are 5 that run the majority of the D.C. season....so no slouch there either. SF has a number of great autocrossers as well. I'll be interested to see how you guys do. Forced to live vicariously through you guys for a few more weeks.

All SCCA Events require membership, though for some events you can buy a weekend membership at $15.

As for this past Sunday, I would have been 3rd in BSP had I not been in the index class. Looks like I would of faired better if I were running in SSM (formerly SM2) though Andy McKee's RX-7 (indexed ssm) broke on the first run so he hopped in another car (a CP mustang on street tires)

Divisionals don't have run/work groups assigned until after registration closes (wednesday I believe, pre registration is required) as they schedule things based on the entries. Friday is check in/tech, Saturday and Sunday we run the event. Your best time from Saturday is combined with the best time from Sunday for your divisional score. Though the region also treats each day individually for region points.

Only couple days away from Divisional

My 370 is at Z Car Garage getting all the new goodies installed! I will be sporting phat A6's for first time. Should be interesting to see how this car does with some stick. Also curious to see how OS Giken LSD hooks up. Setting the car with baseline -2 rear camber, -2.5 front with a little front tow out.

Robs working his magic with the tune on the car too. This should be fun!

Pretty sure the car will need better than stock nismo dampers springs and bars but we will see.

Will you give a ride along or two next Sunday at UFO? I've tracked with a NISMO 370, but never sat in one for an autox. I'm very curious how it'll feel with your mods compared to a prepped 350. Sounds like the NISMO will be set up quite well! What is Rob doing with the tuning? UpRev?

*jealous*

Rob tried to get me an OSG, but they were out of stock last minute. So we'll do it in a couple of weeks. I'm also working on arms and suspension though the suspension lowering/dampers may be delayed a couple months due to budget!

Absolutely! I'm happy to give anyone a ride on first two.

Looks like tune might be delayed, he is working with Uprev on Nismo tune. Still have new high flow cats that should add power regardless of tune. We are looking at a race gas tune

Rob is the greatest I let him know about not fitting perfect and he pulled seat out and has upholstery guy modding my seat so I sit lower, seat will look completely stock. Will sit lower on rails and they are pulling out some padding and replacing with higher density foam. Looking at 2" drop in seating height .

I can't say enough about Rob and his fanatical support of us z car owners. Makes owning a z fun!!!

I'll have to chuck it then when I become a real AX driver. LOL! FYI I bought a GoPro for track days and I stopped using it because it was not intuitive, couldn't review things real time, and it took crappy quality vids when light was not perfect. I can also data log with the "Crapple".

Here is iPhone 4 video from inside our competitions BSP Boxster with Cayman S motor in Southern California from last weekend. ...Umm think I'm going to spend money on makeing the Z lighter and faster not audio video for now. That car is quick!

But your setup is cool. I like the rear view window effect!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKxhvxHKzz4

On a separate note this weather certainly is making tire choice fun! I have to decide if I mount Hoosiers and drive 40 miles home and back to event. I dont have a way to get tires back and forth and my trailer wont be ready to hual the Z until I sell my Boxster race car.

I'm thinking I might have to go get some new street tires mounted before I head down to the "Event" tonight to check in. I will plan to run the 710s, but it would be nice to have decent street tires available if it is rivers of rain on the course

Grant,

I thought the 370's had a bit more space than the 350z's? I can get (4) 285's in my Z. It isn't a fun fit, but I can get them in there.

I have some work buddies headed to the event, too. Look for a turbocharged Capri, an ugly blue MR2, and a nut sliding around the Mullet Firebird. I think the DeLosReyes family will be there in the Subi as well.
