Next event for me is CityTech. Gotta sort out the race car - needs lots of help. The car is faster than the GreenZ, but I was a few seconds slower at Sears in the new car compared to the green car last week.

Using the bypass? Yes, depending on what tires I show up with.

Hmm. I thought I ran a 2:04.xx with the cyclone at some point, but I'm only seeing a 2:05.xx. I believe I was about 2s faster with the bypass, so 2:02/2:03. With fresh tires, which I hope to run (the SpecZ tire) and some confidence, the new Z should be pretty fast. It still needs a lot of sorting out with the compression/rebound, camber, ride height, dyno tune, etc., so maybe not.

Here is some vid from it's very first dry day at the track, and first day with the SpecZ shocks and springs. Lots of throttle-on oversteer post-apex, which slowed me down greatly. I figure it's because of the new, higher spring rate, rear springs:

How much fuel were you running and have you started playing with the ballast I'm assuming you need to meet your rev-up weight requirements?

I hear ya, for what I pulled out of the stock market to buy what little I have on this car I would have had my own shop and a GT3 RS 4.0 etc etc etc. Suffer in your 20's, have fun later.

I started the day with a full tank. I don't need any ballast, as I'm still about 80# porky. I found about 60# to remove, so I won't be flirting with going under the min weight and should sit right about 3200# (with driver) at the end of the race.

Try putting about 50 pounds of ballast in spare wheel well, don't ask how I know.

Hey guys. Had another day at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago. Was hoping to get your critiques. I think I still take a lot of those turns too early. Errr, I need to break out of that!

The Genesis has a high rev hanging problem where on the down shifts, the rev just hangs. Makes it difficult to gain acceleration out of some the turns. Also, I've noticed the 350z has a far smoother transmission than than the Genesis. Some of those shifts were very rough.

Any of those Zs folks here on the board? I saw about 3 or 4 of them that day.
