I was trying to get up there tonight, but can't swing it. Next Wed should be a-go though.

it was EMPTY tonight...guess the warm weather scared folks away. if the weather is similar next week then you should get plenty of runs.

my G is still acting up so I only ran twice (pretty much back to back since no one was there) before heading home. back to the drawing board

Dang, I tried to make it happen, just couldn't. Hopefully it'll be slow again next Wed so I can get a few practice runs in (Comp Rod) before getting eliminated in the first round.

Nice. I'll do both days.

P.S. A guy on EE will reserve 20 spots on point-by. Better sign up soon! (06/30)

NCRC won't let you "reserve" spots unless every single one is paid for.

RA1's are a fine tire, but need to be shaved down 3 or 4/32nd to work in the dry. They will blister badly and squirm at full tread. Use NTO1's....they are the same compound, but don't need to be shaved.

That said, RA1's in full tread are great in the wet and wear like lead.

R888s are the same compound as well if NT01s are not available in the size you need. RA1s are indeed super squirmy at full depth. I made the mistake of running them without shaving them and had a horrible time. From what the spec miata guys say, the RA1s last longer than R888s, however.

A shaved (4/32nd) RA1 will last longer than a full tread R888 in most cases...

After my RS3 are done I wanna step up to R comp like RA1, R888, etc but don't want to jump straight to R6.

Only 275/35 in 18" size, so you'd have to run them all around (ok to do on 9.5" RPF1s). No need to go R6, especially with having to transport tires to/from the track and having a 2nd set of wheels (although I DO have two sets of 18x10.5 wheels for sale!).

Run Scotts 18x10.5's and put on a set of 275 NT01's. You can still drive them to the track and back. NT01's wear well and don't heat cycle out like R888's. They won't be much fun in the rain, though.

If anyone here interested about the 7/8 Laguna Seca event. I have ONLY 3 spots left on high intermediate and advance group. Beginner group is FULL. Register at citytechsf.com/track and put my350 in the comment box. I will get you in.

However, 90dbs is the absolute sound limit in this event. Stock 350z is about 82-85dbs.

*my car with test pipe and greddy EVO2 measured only 80dbs.............................. wtf*
