Hey guys. Had another day at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago. Was hoping to get your critiques. I think I still take a lot of those turns too early. Errr, I need to break out of that!
The Genesis has a high rev hanging problem where on the down shifts, the rev just hangs. Makes it difficult to gain acceleration out of some the turns. Also, I've noticed the 350z has a far smoother transmission than than the Genesis. Some of those shifts were very rough.
Any of those Zs folks here on the board? I saw about 3 or 4 of them that day.
Early turn in at 2min into T2, and missed the apex. Then that carried that into T3, turned in early and left a few feet on the inside of the track at the apex of T3, which is why you started to follow that guy into the dirt at the exit of T3. You want to make a tangent to the exit, not come in hard then have to correct. Same thing at T11 at 3:10.
The Ferrari 458 at 2:30 - I have seen that guy at Infineon (i.e. chased him around). That car is awesome, and I want to drive it to see what it can do. We have some fun here: http://youtu.be/kw0k4PnNUSw
Keep working on using the entire track, getting in tight on the apexes, using full track out, and not turning in early. I can't hear your shifts over the music, but I hope you are running to redline and rev-matching now.

what camera are you using and how are you mounting it?
thats how I want my videos to look.
I'm using an old canon digicam with a headrest mount and a wide angle lens. I'm trying to capture both hands, wheel and the road to analyze driving and form. The headrest mount is no good though if you have a flimsy headrest and seat as you can see my video shakes a lot. I'm trying to get the angle and stability like the guys on best motoring...

Thanks scott and great pointers. I kept telling myself to turn later but I keep ending up all over the place. I think I got all the shifts rev-matched this time. I just wasnt comfortable with the pedal, or the car in general, at the previous event. I really need to follow you out there again. Maybe even get you to drive my car so I can see where I'm going wrong.
