Norcal Track Days
I'm gonna see if I can watch some videos of the "fast guys" before the next event. Maybe pick up on some of the lines they're driving. I think there are some scotts300 vids on here somewhere : ).
And yes, over 103db's. Sg headers + a merged y-pipe, into a 3.5" race exhaust. First time I went out with the largest off-the-shelf burns muffler and meatball'd a 106db. Swapped it for a 2-stage, same. Called up coast fab and had them make the longest muffler that would fit under the car and installed it in addition to the large burns out back, and last week blew a 104's.
A turn down, off to the left, should get me by at thunderhill, but I'm gonna have to do something funky if I ever want to see laguna. Trying not to destroy all the gains I've made, plus Rob at Z-car would be mad if I messed up his tune.

Anyone running with NCRC this month? Signed up for the 24th. Thinking about the 11th too, but not sure how the car/motorcylce day works. I know other orgs have done it, but I've never ran that format before.
Just paid for 08/11 and 08/12. The extra motorcycle session should be like any other day that has the extra driving school group or chrono group. Same format.
Are there any other negative factors like more rubber on different parts of the track or (hopefully not) more likelihood of crashes?
Green SpecZ car felt ok. It's "de-tuned" (less HP, less tire, worse diff, lower quality suspension) nature is slower than what it was previously, but I did manage a 2:02.xx with the bypass. They grouped me with the Masters, Pro, PTD, PTE, ThunderRoadsters, and UTSC cars, so it was crowded and most cars were running sub 2:08s, with some in the sub 2s. I think this class - once built up and the cars are dialed in - will run sub 2s in the races with fresh tires.
I'll be headed to a 3-day event at Laguna in September to continue trying to dial it all in, and also hoping to squeeze that 1:3x lap there. It's a tall order, but we shall see! If anyone is around then, come by and say hello! It's two Zs, a Viper, and 100 Porsches.
Virginia city hill climb 9/28 - 9/30
It is an amazing event for bay area or sacramento owners who enjoy participating in open track days. Virginia City is northeast of Reno, NV.
This is a unique, limited opportunity to participate in this year's virginia city hill climb. It is 5.2 miles of mountain road with 21 turns, resulting in a 1200 foot climb in elevation. With the help of local law enforcement, nevada's department of transportation, wonderful local citizens and the amazing event organizers, drivers get to charge up the hill one at a time so that it is just you, your car and the winding black pavement. For 3 & 1/2 to +4 minutes at a time, you get to drive as fast as you can safely drive with no speed limits or threat of a speeding tickets.
This is also a wonderful social event as well as a rare driving event. It is a great opportunity to meet new people who share the same passion for driving as you.
Go to the pacific region ferrari club website for more information and a copy of the registration form. Contact dennis by 9/17 if you are interested in registering for the event. (See registration form for his contact information.)
All vehicles must meet tech inspection requirements and drivers must be at least 21 years old.

Haha, sweet! I like the new bodywork(on the Z). This'll be my first on-track experience at laguna. Is the track pretty much open for spectators to walk/bike to the various viewing spots?
