Default first time using RAW

Hey everyone, i just recently switched camps and moved from a d40x to a 400d. I shot this with a 28-300 sigma macro lens. This is also my first time using RAW files, so please be gentle.

EDIT:
here's the original, for reference. keep in mind, i shot this last week, when the sky was full of smoke and ash due to the SD Fires

Congrats on the switch

Curious, what type of comments are you looking for? The picture looks great, (except for the white balance) ... but what is it?

Honestly, I'm looking for any comments, as this is my first time using RAW, using a new camera, and the like

In other words, things to keep in mind for next time.

didn't look like the pic needed much raw processing though...maybe you can post comparison shots (the orginal without processing, and the post processing) to get more comments.

i meant just convert the raw to jpg (and resize obv) without making any adjustments. That way we can see what see what you did via raw processing. From the looks of it, doesn't look like you did much to the picture though.

EDIT:
added the original file to the first post.

istan,

i enjoy this camera a lot more than the Nikon. ergonomics are better, colors are truer, and the whites are overexposed, as they were on my old Nikon.
