Well, after screwing around with ATI Damper for a couple months about getting a custom damper to replace my Unorthodox Crank Pulley I got no where.
You would think that when a company advertises that they do custom work and you are willing to pay cash up front, they might be a little bit more willing to work with you. I gave them 6 pages of documentation and a print and still could not get anywhere with the sales guy. Not to mention he kept saying "he'd get back to me" and never did. Then I would call him and he wouldn't even remember who I was.
The only time that the individual at ATI remembered me was yesterday when I called p!st off and just told him I was going to purchase the parts and make the damper myself. Suddenly he remembers me and apologizes for his lateness. The funny thing is that two months of trying to get the ball rolling for something that takes three months of lead time once it is in process is just bull$hit. You would think with the economy how it is companies would want to capture all the sales they can especially if it falls within their normal business field.
The point is that I have made the smart choice to protect the investment of my built motor by adding a damper
All the parts should be here on Tuesday at which point I will reverse engineer them and put them into CAD. From there I will start the process of designing the necessary modifications to assemble the damper to my specifications.

Decided I'm going to work on switching over to the MR2 Electric Power Steering Pump in order to help simplify my belt setup. Should also make a twin charge much easier to do. I will post pictures once I get one. The plan is to just drive the alternator off the 4-rib section normally used for the air conditioning.

Just purchased the MR2 electric hydraulic power steering pump. Ended up that the cheapest way was to get one from a guy in the UK. I'm going to see how it goes and if it doesn't work out the best I found two other options.
Just some general information:
-1991 to 1993 Toyota MR2 had an electric hydraulic power steering pump w/o intergral reservior. I picked it up for $89 shipped
-2000 to 2005 Toyota MR2 had an electric hydraulic power steering pump w/ integral reservior but for about double the cost placing it at almost $300.
-New BMW Mini Cooper has an electric hydraulic power steering pump but it cost almost $400.

This thread and your skills are so mind boggling. I smiled reading thru the whole process because it gave me goosebumps what you are doing on your own. Kudos to you man. This build is insane !

It sucks that I was never able to finish this project. I have actually abandoned the entire project and just picked up an LS1 yesterday. Sick of paying up the butt for everything and reliability or electrical issues always being a problem. Full standalone and an LS1 should make for one quick car and I can DD it.

My LS1 will make 400whp for less than what I will sell all my parts for. Not to mention I can buy aftermarket for extremely cheap and have work done local now.

Even a proper EMS isn't the end all solution to the electrical issues that are frequent with the Z. There are a number of members on here that have gone to very reputable shops around the nation and had to have their projects delayed due to electrical gremlins similar to what I experienced. I just decided that enough was enough.
