Tire FEATHERING: FYI
I have had my Good Year Eagle F1 Gs D3's for 7k miles.
I started to notice a slight roar when braking at 5k miles. I couldn't see any front tire wear.
At 7k miles the roar is more noticable. I still don't see any abnormal tire wear.
I run the rears at 37psi and the fronts ar 39psi.
The cupping was much worse with the three sets of Bridgestone Potenza S040's I've gone through at 5k miles.
I am going have the fronts removed from the rims, cross rotated and the front end realigned after a couple thousand more miles.
There are too many things I love about this car! I enjoy driving it every day!!!!

I had my tires replaced 2 years ago and at 8000 miles now it has 24000 and the tires are still perfect - they aligned the car and tightened the frame back then. Wish you all luck -- it can be fixed

I too have resolved tire feathering on my 03' Perf.
After 36k miles of tire feather frustrations, dealer installed the 3rd set (new RE040) and aligned. I immediately went to an independent shop to "check" the alignment. It was way off! The independent set my alignment to these numbers. I've re-checked the alignment twice since then...it's holding to the numbers.
At 53k (17k on these tires), wear is even with no noise. Handling is about 90% as sharp as it was before.
total toe, 0.09 degrees
L. Camber, -0.8 degrees
R. Camber, -0.9 degrees
L. Caster, 8.5 degrees
R. Caster, 9.1 degrees

These are partial specs... and don't say weather in Inches or Degrees...
I assume ( Spank Me ) the 0.09 Total toe is on the Front... or something
between 1/32" and 1/16" total toe - Why not have both front and Back
Specifications?
Cheers Amy

I have been struggling with the problem on my '03 and am ready for a third set of front tires. Unfortunately, since mine is over 24 months old, NNA has turned a blind eye and my only recourse is to write the NNA executive offices. Of course, with the pedning class-action litigation I look for no relief from Nissan.
BTW, I only have 16.5K miles on the car. It is safe to say at this point that this, my third Nissan, will be my last.

"if" the problem on the 05's was fixed then what was the supposed fix??? different tire design? different suspension setup?
unlike you this is my first nissan, but like you this will be my last.
