03 350z Emergency break
Hey guys,
Gonna break down for you what I've already done to try to fix this issue
*I have tried the bolt/nut that is inside the coin/cup holder by tightening it up
*I have switched out the drum break springs in the rear and have spent hours just flipping the dial up and down and testing the break
regardless of these two things, the car will still roll back in a slight incline.
i live in a hilly area and would like to have the e-brake working properly if the emergency were to ever happen.
Any idea's on different things i should try?

Just curious. Have you replaced the shoes themselves?
Just replacing the drums that are built into the rotors may not help if the shoes are worn.
Also the cables themselves could be stuck. As these cars get older the physical lines could be getting corroded and sticking a bit which would cause you to lose parking brake performance.

But first make sure it is properly adjusted like the other gentleman said. There should be a sticky on here but I know for sure it's in the Haynes manual. I am currently out of town otherwise I would send you pics of the pages.
After proper adjustment i cant think of any other parts you haven't replaced besides the cables. Not much more to the system that that.

Hmm i'll have to look underneath the car then.
i still have to park in gear with e-brake up because i still roll backwards on the slightest incline/decline
I've tried different settings with the drum breaks that it's made no difference... definitely at a loss here

It's really frustrating that Nissan copyrighted the FSM for a model they don't even make anymore. I'm REALLY glad I downloaded the whole thing before they did that.

I was experiencing problems with my e-brake (i.e., the brake did not immobilize the car).
The fix required new shoes (the original shoes were worn past usefulness), freeing the cable (it was partially "frozen,") and adjusting the "pull."
