Default Older style 350Z ECU tuning or ECU swap

Hey guys , so my car has been bench flashed but a basic tune supporting the modifications I have, I want to explore uprev , what would it take to swap out my early model DE ecu which has too less ROM to a newer ECU for the DE that can support uprev. I'm based in South Africa, would have to buy parts from the US for a swap like this but has anybody got good experience regarding this for tuning? Would the ECU and harness be required as well as uprev cable and licenses and that's all ? Any info is welcomed , would rather have uprev for it's perks and ease of switching maps retaining OEM functionality of everything.

Why not contact UpRev and ask about a reflash of a non-USDM ECM? That may be your best option, as swapping ECMs from a SA-spec Z33 to a USDM ECM may have some unintended consequences.

I would definately contact uprev as not all ECUs are going to work with each model. For instance - the 2005/2006 models use wideband o2 sensors and will not work with the 2003/2004 (non-wideband) not to mention RevUp Models vs. DE (non-revup) models.

Default Update on situation

So I ended up doing abit more research , looking at some ROM and ECU lists for the models across nissan and Infiniti, it turns out the South African cars have the ULEV compliant narrow and wideband sensor cars here with Rom space for a single map, so a tuner in Canada has sourced me an ECU from a car of specific year and hardware but USDM with correct rom space and better equipped for our local cars , let's see once I plug it in with the base map written how she does and what snags if any it might have. Not sure how many others have swapped out ECU's.

Nice!
I bought an ECU from him and he was great to work with - very happy with how helpful he was!

I bought that 2003 350z from an owner that forked up some stuff and put a 2006 ecu you in it and it caused a throttle body CEL and a accelerator pedal position sensor issue … Eli was beyond helpful and the ECU along with the tune and NATS delete basically exactly what I needed. It solved my issues so I was happy.

I bought the car to fix and flip - so it was huge help to have him in my corner …
