Just signed up for the HPR e-mail alerts. This is another "field of dreams" that is materializing before us!

 

Here's another thanks to Bob for the tour, and Dave and Darrell for setting it up. Seeing the plans on paper just don't come close to showing you the reality of what the track will be like, but standing out there on the property, seeing the elevation changes, the surface countours, and the staked-out track layout give one a good appreciation for what looks to be a very well-thought-out track design. There are a couple of turns that, if executed correctly during the final layout and construction, could be real signature, 'oh-$h!t' turns along the lines of Kamikaze at Second Creek.

I'm already looking forward to coming off track after that first session and comparing notes with everyone on our new playground!

When this track opens up, how will you insure your car?

Any trusted track-insurers in Colorado?
Looks like entering a track just about voids your insurance, timed
event or not.(Varys a little by company)

Check with your insurance company, but some company acutally insures you when its and HPDE course because it's not a racing event, but rather a safety course.

NVM...I guess this topic is already covered in the linked threads.

 

I'd suggest you contact a small underwriter like K & K insurance, not any of the major insurance companies, for a quote. The premiums will be high and probably not within reach of most Z owners.

IMHO- your best insurance is to go with a structured HPDE program. For example, Nissan Sport will be co-sponsoring two days of HPDEs at the California Speedway this weekend. Less than $200/day for instruction and four structured on-track sessions. SCCA and NASA also run great programs that offer limited liability and health insurance.
