Default Colorado Meet on 3/20

Listen Up!!!!

Pull the Z's out of the garage, clean off the winter dust, and get them shined up because we need to have a Z meet with a drive this Saturday, the 20th.

I know it's short notice, but the damn weather is gonna be at least in the mid 70's on Saturday...........pretty warm for mid March. We'd be wasting the day if we didn't take advantage of it!

Who all can fit this in there schedule? Hopefully we can have a decent turnout?
Meeting place and time TBD.

Leave your input here and hopefully we can get something arranged, I am looking foward to it.

Brian

I'll be up in Ft. Collins getting my windows tinted. Have fun, hopefully I'll be able to join in next time.

You'll have to excuse my DAMN rim. I curbed it last night. SON OF A *****!!!!

But other than that, me and the fiancee are game.

Something like a cruise to Hooters for lunch or something?

Looks like Gary, C5DEMON, and myself are in as of now.

Anyone else?

C5: What part of town do you reside in? Gary and I are in the very northern suburbs. I am just trying to think of a good meeting spot.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a drive or someplace to maybe grab some lunch?

I live in the tech center off of Monaco and Hampden (exit 201). I can pretty much meet you guys anywhere.

I'm racing on Sunday in an autocross at DIA. You guys should sign up! It is an absolute blast.

If you're inviting anyone, I'm in. Just let me know when and where to meet.

Can I sugest running around from Morrision to Evergreen or even the Lookout mountain road. We could meet at the gas station by morision or Bandimere Race Track.

Morrison/Evergreen sounds pretty good, assuming the roads are clear up there (I've heard they got some snow recently, but that area should be low enough that it could have cleared by now.) I'm not too familiar with that area, but I would guess that there are probably a few decent places up there that we could possibly head to for lunch.

Anyone have any other ideas? I honestly don't care where we go as long as the weather is good (which it looks like it will be.) And since we probably won't be going too far into the mountains this early in the season, we can probably afford to meet a little later than usual. Maybe 10 or 11 AM? (That will be late enough for me to be selfish and catch the start of the 12 Hours of Sebring on Speedvision before I leave for the meet )

I could make it for a short drive on Saturday. Gotta be home by 4:00pm. Wife and I are going out Sat. evening. It would be a good opportunity to meet some fellow Z owners. We could meet in Morrison and run up Bear Creek Canyon to Evergreen and on over Squaw Pass to Idaho Springs. Pick a time. It'll be fun.

OK, OK- just got in from a trip and read the mail. Sounds like fun and I'm itchy to run the Z. So I'm in. Let us know time and and place!

Does 10 AM work for everyone? That will probably be early enough that we'll be out on the road before some of the Saturday 'errand runners' start clogging up the roads/parking lots and will be a good way to ease into the earlier meeting times that we'll have to have later in the summer when we go on the longer drives.

As for location, I would suggest somewhere other than the gas station that was mentioned earlier. There may not be enough room at a place like that for us to meet up. Bandimere might be a place to consider, but would their parking lot be open that early for us to just come in and hang out at while we get together?

Another option might be the parking lot of the new mall (Colorado Mills) that recently opened at I-70 and Colfax. We could consider meeting in the far reaches of the parking lot in front of the Target on the north side of the mall. Traffic might be a little worse, but we would definitely have enough meeting space.

10:00am is fine for me. Colorado Mills is also good. If a lot of folks show up it would be better than the gas station. It is still within easy reach of the good roads. I'm all for it.

I can't say for sure since I haven't seen the roads but if you do go up into the foothills and Squaw Pass, I'm sure there is no snow but watch out for sand left over from the winter. I don't know when the road crews usually try to clean that up. Hit a little sand and you'll slip off the road just like it was snow or ice.

Have fun tomorrow and I look forward to runs this summer.

Soory for the delayed response.

10:00 am @ the Colo. Mills Target sounds like a plan.............lets go with it. We can figure out which way we want to head out from there, unless we make a decision on here before tomorrow.

For those who missed it, we had a fine time. From Colorado Mills we went up I-70 to 470 and over to Morrison. Went from there to Evergreen and Conifer before settling on going back to Morrison for lunch. Very low-key, but still lots of fun.

I'll be the one to pass on a mid-April meet as the SCCA National season starts on 4/17-18. It'll be a critical weekend as we start with a Double National race at PMI. My team is gunning for a sixth Divisional title and points will be critical at that stage.
