Anyone know how to install o2 Sensor, your pick, lunch, dinner, or $$
Hi,
i need to replace two o2 sensor on the driver side, one before and one after the cat. Just ordered two new ones and would want to replace them ASAP. According to the place i ordered the o2 sensors, they said that it is really easy to install, but however i do not have any tools. Got a local mechanic to quote $50 to install them, however would want to see if anyone would lend a hand and help me install. Your choice, either lunch, or dinner on me, or cash. I am in Walnut, 91789
thanks,
Mike

Hmmm I'd do it for you but I have a busy schedule. It's just a matter of lifting the car, and having a 7/8 wrench with you
If you have the stock cats, one of the 02's is a ***** to get out because it seems as if the driver side is sunken into the heat-shield of the cat. Therefore, getting the wrench in there is a little aggrevating. But overall, its easy & quick.
Goodluck.

Go to auto zone get a 02 sensor socket and a rachet jack the car up unplug the sensor loosen and remove same for the other side. Put some kind of protectant on the thread so that they wont sease themselves in the cats later when you do something elese tighten until sealing washer is crushed just like a spark plug. plug back in and go. It is very very easy takes no skill at all as long as you know the difference between tight and loose your good.
Mike-
Just out of curiosity does your car studder under 3k with the bad 02 sensors?
Oh and make sure your car is cooled down. The exhaust shop seized mine in the cats because they didn't let them cool down at all!
