Yeah, sways and exhaust was my 1st mod almost 3 years ago. I have the hotchkis adjustable sways... at the time it really seemed to make a big difference but lately the body roll on hard cornering and zigzags seems to be more than what I'm used to. I guess I need to make sure something hasn't come loose 1st but do sways tend to go soft after awhile??? Maybe because I've firmed up some other things it's had an effect. In any event the stock shocks have 65k miles on them so they are probably due for a change.
Gavin was stock other than some weight reduction. He had good tires and drove the crap out of the car and put down great times.
Your sways won't soften but the mounting bushings will if you used the stock rubber one. Put in some urethane ones if you don't mind a chance of some squeaks. I have Prothane sway bar bushing in front. They have small grooves on the inside to help hold some lube. I have a low speed squeak I think is coming from the kinetic arm bushing. Hard to tell and I hear it only pulling into the driveway.
No adjustable camber arms yet. I can see I'm going to need to do it though now that I'm pushing the G beyond it's natural handling abilities. I have a cart loaded with all the Konis and just waiting a bit before I hit the purchase button. Letting it sink in before I commit so to speak. Got a deal for all 4 delivered for $742.56. I think it's a pretty good deal.
Tires tires tires tires. Get some tires Shawn. Shocks are nice and will help settle the car but your not going to change your time drastically with just shocks.

Thanks for the input Scott. I'm pretty sure the bushings are urethane on the sways. I just dropped $1000 on my new set of tires so going for another set with another set of wheels I guess is about what I would spend on shocks/springs... but that's more obvious to the wife and I think she'd be a little annoyed with yet another set of wheels/tires stacked in the garage. I should probably sell my OEM 19" wheels. I really like them, looks-wise, but after getting used to the performance difference with the 18" Enkei's it's hard to put those heavy wheels back on.
Happy shopping
Shawn, before you hit purchase on that cart you should know that I was quoted over $100 LESS for the full set of Konis by a local vendor. I'm going to get with him on Monday and maybe place the order then. I know Jake is going to buy them soon as well. We should all order together.
However, like I said before and like Scott is saying... tires tires tires. I'm very pleased with my Nitto Invos on-road and on-track, but next year I will still have a dedicated set of R-S3/Enkei for the track.

Do you guys ever boil over on power steering during your track days- i don't know that is a concern with autocross because of such short stints - but curious about a normal 20min session?
Gavin tracked a bunch in a G35 and said he would boil over some times. He ran his on the min fill line and just went on driving. At my last DE I didn't have a problem. 3.1 course at cresson and about 85-90 on the track.
i thought the s-techs had a lower drop that the h-tech
he leaned out alot, but he didnt put it on the dyno print out. it was a mustang dyno so i am curious what a dynojet would show. i may run buy there and see if he can print out the AFR.
Out of all the money I've spent my wheels and tires have been my best investment (thank you Chris ). Shawn, I got my wheels from discount for 462 shipped. I don't know if they are available anymore though as they've been discontinued.
I forgot you wanted lower. Ya you have the lower of the two choices and the higher springs rates. You can ask for different springs with the deal though.
They aren't on discount tire's website anymore so they must be all gone. That was a good snag.

Thanks for all the tire campaigning guys. I'm sure that's the ticket. I'm just really disappointed from my times that last event... and the car is feeling different somehow... just kinda loose. And I've got a solid year of experience on the V12s so I usually have them dialed in pretty good and know how they perform. Maybe it was just too low psi for the afternoon session. Maybe I just sucked on that course. lol.

I changed my belts today so I checked out the front sway and the bushings do look a bit melted and very thin on the bottom or but everything is still all bolted together and nothing looks unusual. I have found one side of my front sway completely disconnected before, a long time ago. That was definitely noticeable.
I'm seriously thinking of selling my 19" OEM wheels and getting another set of 18" for tracking... probably stick with Enkei or if I come across a used set of something decent... and some A Arms.. and shocks n springs.. and this and that and it just goes on.
Shawn we're looking at $627.43 for the Konis from MVP Motorsports in Bridgeport. It's not close to anyone but me and that's because I work out that way. He can do that price on a cash deal so I'm just going to take him cash. That's what I did with my Stoptech brake lines last week and it worked out great. We've only met once, but if you're down for it you could give me the cash and I could do the running for you since it's an easy stop on my way to/from work. I mentioned to Jake that we should all order together since we're all at that point.
It's quite possible that your stock shocks have just given up on you and you notice it when you push the car.

i dont know your whole setup but I think you'll want a oil cooler before worrying about water temp. I hit 260 on the oil temp at cresson and that was after only one to two good hard laps. FYI
thank you again - I had not thought of oil temp at all - anyone got a few greddy's they aren't using :P haha good greif 700 dollars for a cooler....
- i'm pretty much stock... ish regarding setup - trying not to venture too much further away from that -
260 is high ish if you are using conventional oil - i think you are ok if your using most of the synthetics out there, simply swap it out when track day is over -
- mobile 1 says "Mobil 1 Racing oils offer high-temperature protection at temperatures over 500°F (260°C) and are suitable for temperature protection where supercharging and turbo-charging is employed." i'm not force induction and i've been running mobile 1 (although not the race weight) the standard synthetic oil says "Pours at temperatures as low as
-40ºF and protects at oil temperatures as high as 500ºF."
maybe i am interpreting their information wrong - i think getting to 360 - 400 though is way out of normal for oil temp 320 is a cause to remove your foot from the throttle unless your going for checker flag lol
Here is an image I got of the eclipse tonight....clouds were thick...but it just squeezed by them.
Next one won't be until some of you guys have a child ready to graduate from HS.
Enjoy.
