Man I rode with Chris for a couple of laps. The tires weren't holding very well and he definitely had crazy hands (really just letting loose of the wheel instead of trying to force it). I was giggling like a little schoolgirl cause it was so fun being the passenger at that point.

I wasn't referring to the letting loose haha

Eric if you go to that PCA event - I will do my best to make it there to spectate - I can't do any racing until after the holidays though - i'm busted here -

I think i have 1 or 2 possible autocross days i can squeeze in both my budget and my tires - but after that i have to get some new RE's so i won't be out on a track until after income tax lol -

I don't THINK i'll be hitting up Houston - but i might try and get a track day out at TX2k again this year - dunno though. But my plans DO CALL OUT FOR COLLEGE STATION NEXT YEAR - and of course eagles canyon -

I really want to try this time trial. I have a feeling it will be even more fun than autoX.

These Time Trials out there at Cresson will be really fun.....I'm not too sure I will be able to do both the BMW event on Sat. and then the PCA event on Sun.

If your pads have life in them you'll be good. The two day I did this spring was easier on my tires then a full day at mineral wells. If you have about half your pads left you'll be more then good. And I think thats being conservative

I am not sure how the PCA time trial works. If its time on the track or number of runs or...

Wish I could go, looks like a good deal.

I'm pretty sure my pads have good life in them, but I'll double check. I just wasn't sure what to expect because I hear people say you burn through pads at track events.

If I remember correctly, you and Chris both did Cresson and all the autoX events on the same pads?

Eric - the simple way to save your pads is to not ride your brakes - make your tires work not your pads - remember you aren't driving to wal-mart out there but keep in mind you aren't lewis hamilton either

I'm not worried about burning through pads - because racecar.

I just wanted to be prepared if needed.

It would be cool if a few of us could make it out. I don't know official times yet, but I think the Z guys dominated the autoX on Sunday.

So many people ride their brakes on the track - its the habits that daily driving create - i don't know if riding the brakes really eats pads or not though.... maybe not lol - i know i don't make a habit late braking before a stoplight - ... well maybe 2ft...

On the track I try to - waaaaaaait BRAKE HARD and SHORT - THROTTLE - clean shorts - repeat - yay lol

when i was out with the Z at eagles canyon i would stop short! then go, then stop again, then go then stop then turn..... I am so rusty couldn't find the sweet spot for the high speed braking zones lol a few times me an my passengers were like whoooaoaa... haha - which of course = a fast lap time.

Here's my best run from yesterday's autox. I did forget to downshift at one of the turns and you can hear me going 3-2 well after a turn in the video, lol. The car was pretty squirrelly, too, compared to my 2nd and 3rd fastest runs.

And here's an in-car vid from the morning session when the course was still damp for ***** and giggles. I had just made this headrest camera mount so I wanted to test it out.

Nice Job Chris, are you still running your stock VLSD? I could not power out of the corners very well. Could be the tires, there past the tread markers, or just me or maybe my VLSD is finally shot.

I had just put on the EBC Blues before the DE. So I have done the DE and all of our other stuff this year and I still have half my pads left.

You wont be driving right on the edge like you do with Autocross. Going off course is a bigger deal. But your car handling experience from AX will pay off and you'll feel comfortable driving at 9/10.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I do like the outside views better, too, but the inside view appears to be very stable with that mount.

Depends on your pads, but I'd have a back up if you're at 50% or less just in case. If you have softer, street compounds, then it'll go through it rather quickly. If you have more double-duty pads, you should be fine. I literally burned through a brand new, just bedded-in set of pads before with just 1 track day and had to limp home. I ended up trashing my $400 DBA rotors because the metal back of the pads chewed them up on my way home.

Yeah, still on the original VLSD with 146K miles. I'd love a diff that actually does its job, but it remains on my wishlist for now.

Haha, I've gone off course and got black flagged before -- definitely not the same as going off course in autox.

Hey Chris, I didn't take any video from the AutoX....I wish I did tho...I'm gonna look for a Go-Pro soon. So I can use my suction mount. I'm not sure I want to get the newer version or find a used one.

Thanks for posting these times:
