The Fabricated Motorsports event in Hitchcock at the Grand Sport Raceway.

:ico n21:
IT WAS AMAZING...local PD brought a car out and ran it, and i lapped that piece three times in the same heat.
but then my front right caliper came apart, so i didn't get to participate in the last heat.

Oh well....new calipers now

can't wait

As a road racer, I don't understand drifting. Everything I put on my car is 100% functional, but drifters like to go over the top with items that should or could be functional.
For example, the yellow S14A with fender flares and slots cut into them was a little much. I know the benefits of a wider track and wider rubber, but pushing them out that far will have negative effects on your suspension. Those slats will allow trapped air out, but they do little to effect aero or cooling.
It did have a sick undertray and diffuser, but are 12 inch wide wheels necessary on a car with a 350 whp sr20.
I also don't understand adding $3,000 worth of body kit, then taking off the front bumper for fear of tearing it up. Underneath these things are pure bred race cars, so why not use them that way?
I guess the nature of the sport, and the reason it has taken off in the U.S. is that everything is in excess.
Excessive tire smoke, slip angles, tire wear, body kits. At the end of the day the average bloke is left wondering why.
To me drifting is like figure skating. You put on a frilly outfit. perform some pretty spectacular maneuvers and get judged by your performance. It is too subjective.
Racing is objective. Whoever comes in first is winner and the rest aren't. I get that.
