Would you happen to know what the expected gains are from a stock Z using the pre programed UTEC map?
The pre-programmed map should make roughly about 10whp. The current base map isn't meant to be a big power maker. With every car being different, we are best suited to leave some power on the table, to keep some cars from being tuned on the edge.

On my buddies 2005 G35 coupe we were able to make about 270whp not spend any time on tuning, just loading a map and altering it slightly. His car baselined just shy of 259whp.

Thanks,

That's great. But could you elaborate a bit on the "doesn't seem to make a difference" part?

Looks like we're going to see some pretty strong NA cars, especially once the VTC control is added. The FI guys have got to be pretty excited, too. (subscribing)

If you'd like shoot me an e-mail MikeM@alteredatmosphere.com. We are put together a package for our 05+ customers to include an immensly disconted ECU rev-limit flash (so you can set the rev-limiter) with the UTEC.

Hope this helps,

Looks like a really great system. It just moved to the top of my mod list.

Maybe someone can educate me on the VTC issue, but isn't that mainly for gas mileage when driving easily and power when driving hard and would have literally no effect on power at WOT after it phased? In other words, isn't the cam phasing just going to be maxed out at heavy load if the ECU detects WOT? Plus that fact that very few people I've ever met could tell you which way to adjust cam phasing to make an improvement. Just something to consider. I may be way off base, just let me know and I'll crawl back into my cave.
