mike i talked to you before about a reflash with my stillen sc,and everybody i talked to said stillen just cant be tuned.this utech looks like it would replace the stillen (box) if thats true then i think i would guess this would def make tuning the stillen sc for a lot more power.i would be interested in this if you want to use mine as a test.of course i know it would cost $,let me know,i live in bal county so no problem driving up.btw its a g35 coupe 5at

Thanks to Jermaine/Nathan over at Turbo XS for tuning my Z on short notice. The car is running a lot stonger, made about 13WHP...and my car has never been too responsive to mods. Will post up some graphs as soon as I get them.

Some questions about my setup
Hi,
I'm seriously considering getting an UTEC for my Z but I have some questions related my setup:
I have an ATI Procharger. This kits comes with an additional inline fuel pump that is controlled by the ATI tuning box. Will the UTEC take over the control of the additional fuel pump ? If it does, I guess I can just get rid of that box right ?
I have a Zeitronic meter/display and datalogger fixed on my car. This unit comes with a Bosch wideband sensor and an analog wideband output. Will this output interface to/be useable with the UTEC? Or wil I need to get the other wideband solution and loose the Zeitronix? Which leads to the next question...
I have an Invidia G200 exhaust. This is a dual system, 2 headers, 2 seperate downpipes, 2 seperate pipes all the way to the end. The Zeitronix wideband sensor is plugged in one side of the exhaust. Will measuring at one side give accurate results? If I would need another wideband sensor I guess I could plug it in the other side, right ?
Are there any plans to change shiftpoints for the 5AT ?
And then this: I'm in Panama, Central America. I don't know if there's someone here that has enough experience to tune the UTEC. If it's necessary, would a specialist tuner be willing to fly in and tune my car (at a reasonable price) ?
Thanks
Danny

Yes the UTEC can control the pump. It will function in a different mannor though. Currently the Aeromotive DFPR controls voltage to the pump. This in turn varies the amount of fuel the injectors deliver. You will need to wire a relay to turn the pump on at a certian RPM or Boost level. Then the UTEC will need to be tuned for the proper injector on time. The better option is to use our Return Fuel Solution with Pressure Regulator. This will be much more consistant and easier to tune. You will remove the Aeromotive DFPR box either way.

The Zetronix will not connect to the UTEC unfortunetly. I would maintain it as a display. More reasons for this are below.

Measuring on one side may or may not give good results. Some cars do fine while others can be off by a point. This is due to the non-semetrical design of motors and intakes, etc. The UTEC Tuner makes it soooo much easier to tune the car becasue you can log it in the software. I have to say I see it as a must have not an option.
One thing to do in regards to the difference if AFR between banks is to have two bungs. Log with the sensor on one side and then on the other.

None that I know of.

We would love to help you with your project! Mike Mahaffey the owner and main tuner at AAM has done many tunes on the road. He did the Modified Mag car in Georgia, the Performance Mag car in Canada, and many other private customers. Please email or pm him so we can get somethign figured out. mikem@alteredatmosphere.com
Thanks! Dave

hey danny I had a question regarding the boost control solenoid that is optional for the utec. Is it needed to tune the vehicle? Or is having a map sensor so speed density can be used enough to tune a boosted vq35?
#148
You dont need the solenoid for tuning. The BCS is only used to control boost. All you need is the Map sensor to tune speed density.
#149
In the beginning it mentions the ability to eliminate the Maf, with my car and many other utecs I have seen, the maf is still being used in vacumn. Can the Map sensor be used in complete replacement of the Maf?

Edit:
I just saw your SIG. It can be done but it is foolish because Utec already has a low resolution.
