The problem with UTI is that there is a delay with the 3rd party Wideband. The A/F are sometimes lagging a few millisecond behind so it is hard to use the Auto Tune. It is very hard to adjust Fuel if the A/F value doesn't exactly match to the Cell you want to tune. There is a way to have UTI to compensate for the delay but it is still hard to actually tune since you want the exact RPM/Load to tune.

Yeah, this is something that I'm a bit worried about, but was hoping setting the delay value would do a good job of compensating. If i get it right, shouldn't it be spot on, and I can always trust that the wideband reading is in synch with the load column?

That is the problem, sometimes it is almost in sync but some times it will be off by a lot. I used to look at the cute GUI but now I always look at the Raw Data since you can see how much is the delay. It is not like the data are bad, it is just a little bit delayed so you just have to take that into consideration when reading the logs. I usually try to use my TPS+Load+A/F to match them. If your TPS is 0 and load is 0 then there is no way in hell your A/F should be 11.1... lol also it is not a straight matching since when you let go of the gas, there is also a delay before your wideband goes back close to the stoich #'s so you have to take that into account.

true and I hope Gothchick chime in since she is using UTI and Tuna. If you have the TUNA then you don't really need the UTI unless you want GUI. UTI was created to integrate 3rd party standalone wideband with Utec. If I had to do things over again then I would've just went with the Tuna instead with the Innovate WB.

Hey guys.. I've just install the utec in my 03 auto and noticed the CEL, SLIP, & TCS lights ON once i start my car. I tried cleaning up the fault code but it just keep coming up after a few start up. it is diagnosed on "malfunction on primary & secondary coil". I'm very sure its not the coil bcos when I unplug the utec and clean it again, its gone. anyway, i'm using the hyperterminal software from utec. I tried mailing to TurboXs regarding this but there was no reply. Can anyone help me in this situation? Thanks in advance..

Ive been using the UTI this whole week doing commuter tuning runs. I log on the way into work, edit the saved map with UTI-ME at work, upload at lunch, drive and log, edit in the afternoon, upload before the ride home and log some more, edit at home, upload in the AM and do it all over. Looks like their is a few tenths delay with the Tuna. UTI is very handy... the tables are very usefull.

The auto logging feature only does one run, saves, then wont do another log unless I restart UTI? any one have this issue?

Ive gotten very close on my 0.65-BAR tune and am just about ready to turn up the wick!

I emailed him the other week to ask him a few questions. My only concern is that he seems to be pulling out some features in the new version, like AFR offset to compensate for external widebands. This to me should be a critical feature.

I have a feeling that this program will cause me to spend my stimulus check on a carputer

I was thinking of going with something like this - http://www.mini-box.com/s.nl/sc.8/category.101/.f

But man, I'm finally putting my interior back together and never want to do anymore wiring again.

that doesn't look too bad. I just went with a laptop because I had an extra laying around and you can find them cheap used. Also I can bring it in the house and set up everything instead of messing with it in the car. I have it running the roadrunner front end witha button that launches uti so I can switch back andn forth from uti, to gps or mp3's or movies.

So do you also experience some delay with the A/F?
