Default UTEC tuned at MRC compared to reflash from AAM

Hey everyone yesterday I went to MRC and had my auto Z tuned on the dyno. My z with reflash had 270 hp just like I did at Altered atmosphere when they tuned me, and with the Utec tuned I put down 283 hp in my automatic. So I gained 13 hp over a good reflash, and a whole bunch of power from the midrange on.

Thanks Julain you did a great job with my Z to gain all that power. I feel I have one of the highest NA automatics around now.

Sincerely Glen

Great gains. So you got a baseline of 270 @ MRC which equalled the 270 @ AAM then gained 13whp? Those are great NA gains. BTW-did you have a custom reflash done at AAM or just a generic flash.

I drove down to AAM so It was a in house dyno tune and got 270 hp. When I got to MRC and dynoed yesterday my baseline was 270 also. So either way I look at it I made 13 hp at peak over a reflash, and a bunch more throughout the rpms. Then after Julain hooked up the Utec and tuned it I got a final number of 283 hp. If I had a manual instead on my auto im sure I would of been somewhere in the 290s.

Sincerely Glen

For my engine I have a custom apexi cold air intake, crawford plenum, crawford headers, resonated test pipes, Injen true dual TI, HKS Ignition amplifier, Denso Iridium spark plugs, honed and polished intakes, ported and polished heads with the 1mm larger ferrea valve kit, JWT cams, Underorthrdox pulley, HKS grounding kit, Proflow throttle body, and now UTEC. I have the factory lower end of the motor still also.

For my drivetrain Protorque 3200 stall converter, SGP valve body, and 3.5 manual rear end.

Sincerely Glen

Looks like our old correction factors are dead on huh..
I shall post a Dyno Dynamics uncorrected dyno sheet tommorow from the shop.I believe his uncorrected numbers were around 254 when we were finished..Thats good considering a non corrected stock Z puts down about 222-225 whp on our dyno without the dynojet comparison..Glen insisted on the Dynojet correction numbers so he may compare to his previous dyno. He did 270 on AAM's and did 270 on the BEST pre Utec pull on our dyno, all his other pulls averaged around 265. We took our best pre UTEC pull and compared it to our final numbers. Most tuners show worst dyno pull compared to best to look like tuning gods..We dont..
Being that Glens car is an automatic you loose about 20% on the drive train loss as compared to 17% loss on a 6 speed. This means Glens motor is making in the area of 350 crank horsepower...Thats 70 HP over Nissans advertised HP range!!!!N/A!!

Plus Glen brought us Dunkin Dohnuts!!I We like food...

Nice to see those results. Awesome work on you AT btw. I was already thinking MRC would be my UTEC guys, with those gains, I'm sold. Just a little more work on my own ride over the next few weeks and I'll be heading up there. Looks like donuts are the key to good results here, eh?
