Default Advice on timing map....UTEC

I need some advice on my timing map , I don´t have any knock on my data logger, with this knock threshold:

idle to 2000 rpm 100
2000 to 3000 rpm 90
3000 to 4000 rpm 80
4000 to 5000 rpm 70
5000 to 6000 rpm 60
6000 to 7000 rpm 50
7000 to 8000 rpm 50
8000+ rpm 50

But ,I need to know if this map is conservative or not.

The minimum value for mapping is -0.5 , and the maximum is 15.5.
I´m runing 92 octane pump gas.
I have a built engine with a CR around 9.3:1.
What do you think guys????????????

i think you will be knocking right under 6000 where you shouldnt be.

i wouldnt use that as a timing map. it will be jumping around on the dynochart for sure...

Starting at 4500-5250 I would knock 2 degrees out. Then from 5500 to redline knock 2.5 see what happens..

The car is running fine , and my data loggs doesn´t show any knock , and I´m running 14 lb ( gauge ) 12.5 lb ( absolute ) ,this would be around the 80% of the map , anyway I will reduce some timing to be sure , I do not want a head lift issue AGAIN............

just curious - are your all recommendations to reduce timing across all loads or just for the higher loads?

I did reduce the timing only in the higher loads , from 60% to 100%......

i can see a major issue with that map, as i said, i would never use that, if you lifted your heads, i can show you exactly why.

this is why we get paid a lot of money to tune cars.

again, i would not use that map, your knock sensitivity is very low, i bet if you turn it up to 70 , it will knock like crazy. but you do what you want...

btw, that is more timing that i was running on C16 octane to answer your question. that chart needs to be looked at by someone who tunes utecs A LOT and they can tell you a serious issue that is wrong on the top of the chart.

timing doesnt just increase as you get higher, there is a certain flow of ups and downs with every car from 0-redline...

I did this modifications to the map:

I would like very much to get a tune , but I don´t have any utec tuner here , and my car is the only twin turbo 350Z in all the country...........

This map was modified from the turbo xs page ( aps 550cc (sd) ) , and if you take a look on that map , you will see that I reduced a lot ,the timing compared to the first map.........also I did change the min and max value for mapping , from 3/20 to -0.5/15.5 , obviously I take many logs to get a nice AFR in all the map.

maybe pm a tuner (namely the sponsors in this thread since they've been kind to respond and give some suggestions) and work something out to see if they can tune remotely... if you've got wifi on your laptop connected to the UTEC, maybe a pro can remote desktop in and tune "live".

that would be cool.

(good luck)
