what helps more low end power and torque? most of the things seem to focus on peak numbers

some more grunt 2k-4k would be nice

shorter ring & pinion gears - 3.692 FD for AT, 3.9 or 4.03 FD for MT...

I have an AT with 3.692 (3.7) - also, HFC (I use Crawford) with A/F adjusted gave notable trq...

I recently installed Crawford headers (when I did cams) - power gains across the rmp - 8-10 trq across relatively good curve.

plenum spacer is decent gains pretty much whole rmp and highly debated tbs (throttle body spacer) at least the one I use gave similar felt gains

I'm not going to debate any of these - I have them all and I'm telling stating what has worked for me... I've posted about all of them either here and/or on driver.

all the breather mods will benefit highly from a tune.

If you are looking for one bang for buck idea, I'd go FD gear… A+ on fun to drive factor.

i def want the fd but the whole process is going to be very troublesome because of the fact that mine is AT. im gonna need to find an MT pumpkin and then get the gears and then get the install kit and then find a reliable shop to do it

and dont you lose a bit of low end with hfc? i have that on already anyway

i would love to do cams/headers/pistons/rods/tune haha i can go on and on. but i should settle down because of how much money this is going to be.

but i could narrow it down to the FD. that i do want.

since you have an AT too... you might want to consider LSD - depending on your budget you cold do Quaife and FD at same time, it bolts right up to your existing pumpkin without having to swap or deal with stub axles, etc... That’s what I did - FWIW.

if you use an MT diff you are fine... that why I suggested Quaife because it will wrok with what he has and allow for 3.7 - I did it in my AT.

sorry i dont quite understand. I was under the impression that in order to put in a different gearing on an AT, you MUST MUST buy a MT diff first, before you could put it in.

youre saying you could bolt the fd + quaife in my existing pumpkin, which would be an AT pumpkin? sorry just a bit confused

I have an AT in my 'O4 Touring Coupe, and the 274ft-lbs of torque give the 287 horses
plenty of punch for the buck. Perhaps it's my age (59), but I'm more than satisfied with
my Zed's pick-up and passing power! I plan to keep that monZter till it goes bust! A drop-in K&N filter helped a bit, too--at least on the MPG department, 'cause I'm gettin' 2 weeks out of a tankfull!

yes, that’s what I'm saying... the Quaife is MT... the only difference between MT and AT FD is the gear is thicker for AT - but the Quiafe is designed for 3.5+ so you're good to go wit 3.692 FD.

There's a bunch of info all over the various forums (there are other forums besides this one ) - you'll get all the info you need to make the right decision... all the questions you are asking are out there

those numbers are measured from the crank I take it (OEM numbers)... you didnt dyno those numbers on a stock car...

anyway - rear end gears dont change your hp & trq - they just change how its transfered to the wheels... put a shorter FD in and you will be passing even quicker
