Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There is no right and wrong, when it comes to building a custom one-off show car.

In regards to the gains, keep in mind, this is a completely untuned engine. and 270whp+ is the highest NA number we have seen on our Dyno Dynamics. Stock VQ35's register about 210-215whp on our dyno. Our dyno reads about 10% lower than a DynoJet, so I would expect about 290whp+ on the common DynoJet. Not too shabby, I think, for exhaust, test pipes, air intake, and cams...no tuning..no headers.

You posted in my first thread about the 06 350Z that pulled 264hp on a DD dyno. Of course, That car has over 15K miles, and runsa 13.8 at the track. completely stock.

This Wendsday, I'm taking another Rev-up to the DD Dyno to get a baseline.

I wonder why yours reads so low in comparision to the one around here?

I think I remember that. Most shops wont disclose if they add extra correction to their DD. It is very common, since DD owners want to show numbers that look like the higher DJ numbers. Our numbers are not corrected.

Dyno numbers create a ton of confusion for everyone.
If you guys are getting stock baselines of 250-260whp on a DD, I can assure you that it is a DJ simulated/corrected number.

Not bad gains... looks like intake/exhaust/test pipes will be roughly 25whp gain on the HR without even a tune.

I had done a video. Check the Intake/Exhaust forum, I think that is where it is posted.

No, trying to get the car done has taken all of my free time. I am behind on a project at work because I have been doing car stuff.

From your experience, how much additional gain has been achieved from tuning a Z equipped with similar mods? Is it even possible to tune a 07 Z? I understand that the ECU is not compatable with a UTEC...

My guess would be that a tune's going to make quite a difference. From my experience dropping cams in without a tune hurts as much as it helps.

WOW By far this has to be the best thread I have read among many other forums I belong to. I just sat and read all 22 pages in 2 1/2 hrs.

Much props to J and Forged for taking the time to implement this valuable information to the forum. The BEST hands down!

Pretty interresting. I loved all the picts. Too bad while engine was out, you didn't get any picts of the Bell housing and the change to the clutch nissan made. I guess the Bell housing is different on the HR compared to the DE, I heard it was the same as the 4.0 engines.

so uh sandy's phone #? hehe
