"Ummm yeaaah sooo.... whoever set up your appointment forgot to order the part. So yeah we cant do the work. "
WTF!!!
I MADE THE APPT. TWO DAMN WEEKS AGO! I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE GUY IF HE HAD CHECKED IF THEY HAD THE PARTS IN STOCK!! i was answered with a casual "yeah sure..."
Now i have to wait till thursday of NEXT week and then bring it back into service. This is ridiculous. Sheehy nissan of annapolis workers officially do not possess intelligence. Now i cant put my intakes nor exhaust for two more weeks!
Damn that sucks man, If your not far away from columbia. The antwerpen nissan out there took care of me more than adequately and that was even before the recall letter went out. I also have intake exhaust and TPs and they were cool about it. Just a thought but if they are that forgetful on ordering parts who knows what they may be forgetful on when repairing your car. Sorry if I sound like a downer but I dont believe in giving dealerships chances unless they make an effort to keep my business.

Ill give them a call. See what they can do. Thanks. Id rather go to columbia for 5 hours and be around there than have to wait for the idiots over at annapolis for 2 more weeks...

EDIT: is this the one you are talking about?
if so its only half hour away... worth the drive.

EDIT #2: Yup, gave them a call, scheduled an appointment. Thank you man. Annapolis even told me i had to convert back to stock as well, and antwerpen doesnt mind... never going there again. Looks like antwerpen it is.

thanks for the suggestion.

No problem. They are good people from my experience and since they have experience doing it at least once (mine) and likely more times they should be proficient at the repair.

Got mine done today. The service writer said they had an '07 come in on a flatbed yesterday for exactly this issue, but we were first in line, so we got priority. Apparently all went well. I haven't driven the car yet, but my husband has and reports no changes.

That sucks, i guess this is the first issue with the replacement part...this is partly why I haven't done my recall yet..i haven't had an issue with my original clutch yet, I'm a bit weary about having them change anything it and THEN having issues... (7100 miles..knock on wood)

I got my "official" letter a few weeks ago. I haven't had any problems with the clutch, but I am leaning toward having the work done. I would hate to have the car all torn up and not be any better off. Anyone here decide against getting the new part?

I was thinking about saying "hell with it; it ain't broke, so don't fix it" but after hearing so many stories about this problem, I decided to have them go ahead.

My husband reports that the master tech did the repair, and used our car as the "demo" to show the other techs how it's done. Glad to have their top guy on the job. BTW, he reports that the exhaust did NOT have to come out to remove the transmission.

Default troubles at dealership

just found about this, and called nissan...my vin does fall into the recall, so i called the dealership.....he said that they would not cover it because i didnt have a factory clutch(JWT)....I had to give him the sob story of being deployed to Iraq, and how my buddy was going to have to take it in for me....ECT.....they will prob. be real mad then they see that my cats have gone missing......and none of the exhaust stuff is factory......i would try to find a cool service advisor to deal with if you have mods done to the car...

they have to do the recall. the parts u put on has nothing to do with the recall problem. when i had my rx8 and had the whole motor yanked out for a new on because a recall they still did it and i had every bolt on in the world on it. they just couldnt put the after market parts back on just the oem ones. tell them u will go after them if your recall part fails and cause u to get in to a wreak because it failed. bet u they will fix it right there.

yeah where i am, the dealer gave me sh** about how they couldnt do the recall because i had intakes and test pipes on and everything. so i told them i would sue them if i died in a car accident because of clutch failure. They told me they would do the recall . but im not taking my car there anyway, im taking it to another dealer thats supposedly much better.

Hello everyone, my first post and unfortunately a bad situation. Been reading the site for a while and decided to take my Z in for the recall.

Dropped the car off at 8am this morning for the recall, all is well. 5 minutes ago get a call from the service department and was told that due to the car having Borla Ture dual aftermarket exhaust that they are going to have to charge me a $90 service fee to remove it in order to perform the recall because it is an aftermarket product.

The worst part about this is that the same dealership sold me the car, and it had the exhaust on at the time of sale along with Tanabe springs and Rota wheels. WTF???

All these mods were done by a previous owner.

Anyone else have this kind of trouble???? Haven't seen this issue posted thus far.

Damn you guys have really sucky dealers.
You cant even imagine how I would react if the dealer told me this crap.
I would go spastic!

Side note, after putting a few miles on the car since the swap out, it does feel a little smoother and more responsive!

if they sold u the car with those parts on they must do it for free. do u have the paper work to show them they were on the car when u bought it from them if so it should be free of charge.

I don't have any official paperwork from them that states the items, but the sales guy knows about them and highlighted them as a selling point.

The sales guy (Chucky), will hopefully stick up for me. I'm going to let them finish the work first so I don't have a pissed off tech/ dept. manager working on my car and ****ing it up, but afterwards when I go to pick it up, IT'S ON!!!!!
