There's someone else on this post with 80k+ miles and he doesn't have engine issues. Really no one on this post from what I can tell has engine issues. BTW, I just cracked 78K+ on my '08ZR with no engine issues. It doesn't eat oil and runs great! It's modded on too. My only issue is that my convertible top rattles on the right side. A small washer came out of it shortly after purchase. I'll find the solution and post it in the Roadster area. I'm sure that the HR engine is as good as if not better than any other Z engine. I really love it!

Damn JP, alot of problems you've had there. I haven't had much problem with mine yet at 40k miles. Hatch shocks are still great. My clutch is going bad and I think the tranny may be aswell, but other than that everything is good.

mine is still really strong, I just want to change it because I am sick of my clutch sticking to the floor on DRs when I launch

I bought mine used, and I'm guessing the owner before me either abused the hell out of the clutch or just didn't know how to drive an MT. I noticed mine sticks too every now and them when I try to launch really fast like that. I've never dragged my car before but people like to race on the streets too

that's horrible...

But at least its safe to say the HR is pretty damn reliable. I've had 2 VQ35DE's and both burned oil and both had tail pipes with tons of carbon deposit. It's a relief having an HR

lol, you guessed right man, just saw your message. indeed, i have 110k now on my 07 GT and it still runs like a champ. aside from the faulty brake pad retainer clip ($20) which happened a while ago, no other issues at all. would totally be hilarious if mine is #1 in the mileage game.

on that note, i still love the hell out of my car (probably cuz i don't drive it everyday). planning on keeping it another 6 months at least, but by then, might not even be worth all that much so who knows... maybe i'll keep her 'til she blows up.

Dude that's amazing. How's it running compared to when you got it? I'm almost certain you have the highest mileage HR here

running great, feels as good as it did when i first got it. i'm pretty religious about the maintenance though; going to do a complete fluid change next, and i use castrol edge fully synthetic for the motor (which i highly recommend).

i suppose my only mechanical issue is that my hatch shocks are also a little weak like some others, but only in colder temps.
