Highest mileage HRs
Figured. So might as do it all while I'm in there. That whole adjusting every oil change would be annoying. What happens when there is no more room to adjust? But I can't bare dropping the trans again for a CSC issue. I'm a deer in headlights for the past couple weeks on this forum. So much good information
The Z1 was the one I wanted cause it's external, if it does bad yoy can change it on a lift. I'm just worried about one day not having any more space to adjust it into spec.
the Z speed worries me cause of having to drop the trans WHEN it goes bad.
As we can see I trust neither in the long run.
what made you get rid of the Z? You seem knowledgeable

i got rid of the z because i got bored with it, i had full bolt ons and it wasn't going to get any faster without really tearing into the motor or going FI, so i sold it to a friend that has seen it throughout the years and watched it evolve, he knew the parts on it and knew how i was with the car. for the price i gave him it was a no brainer for him. took the cash he gave me and put it down on a C6 Z06 corvette, factory it has about 200 wheel hp more than my Z did with a ton of money in it. i love the Z to this day, and when i see one i still look at them.
They don't even give you any play in the pedal. I adjusted it then I couldn'tget the cruise control switched so reach the pedal so I went back to how it came. Whatever, as long as I know it's not just mine
Travlee has given you everything you need to make a great decision, if your a DIY'er and dont mind adjusting the clutch regularly, then external is for you.If you want to bolt up and go, then go with the upgrade CSC. Fluid is going to be Redline, if you use the correct one you will not have issues with Redline. All this information is posted thoroughly. Its good your looking now, that way you will know which way to go make a good decision.
Good luck.
Good luck.
i halfway know what i am talking about, being one of the few (actually only) of my friends that had the hr, i did a lot of research. obviously it is your car, and your decisions .... i led you to water, only you can choose to drink
I do all my own work but I'm debating paying a shop to do the clutch just cause a whole weekend vs dropping off the car and picking it up later seems easier. But i see people paying $800 for a clutch job. All that on top of a $1,600 clutch job!? Yeah I might have to waste a weekend lol a weekend of headaches
Thanks for the info guys! So eventually what your saying is during normal driving the clutch won't come back up? Cause right now I only have that problem while trying to launch or standing burnouts (have not tried since)

honestly, the trans is not that hard to drop.... between me and a buddy we can do it (with beer and food breaks) in about 6 hours. the hardest part is stabbing it back into the motor. if it is sticking down intermittently it is only going to get worse
Only under a hard launch. I drive the car normally all weekend and 0 problems.
And how many times have you dropped it? I hate the top bolts on a RWD car. It's on the same left as Timing chain and water pump. Two things i debate paying to do or not. Internal water pumps blow

Oh yeah and mine is definitely going out then. But with it being a weekend car only I can park it once it goes out and sound like I'm doing a Southbend stage two and the HD CSC. With Redline fluid in the diff and trans. Would love a clutch type diff but the list of to do has enough mods already
That's a H (can't spell it right now for some reason) type diff no? How does that effect a car with VDC? Do you just turn it off so they diff can do what it's supposed to do? I can imagine a clutch type not liking VDC
