Opinions on buying an 08 with 71K? Two owners, No accidents. Great price, but I don't want to get into a money pit. Any common issues around this mileage?

my 08 just turned 71k miles, so i would consider that average if you go by the 12k miles per year figure. what is the price they are asking? one thing that you may need to do is replace the csc

I just hit 50k on my 07 last week Need to buy another car so I can load balance miles. I want my Z to last another decade or more, so it'll be like having a 240z today.

They are asking 13,900 but it is a dealer and should be able to be talked down significantly. The CSC's run about $300 correct? So if I ballpark $500 for the whole thing and use it to negotiate, that would make sense?

i paid 21k for mine 2.5 years ago with 35k miles. the thing with the csc is that the OEM is crap, and it is internal so you have to drop the transmission... the best bet would be to get the zspeed heavy duty one.. and then if you cant do it yourself, you are prob looking at 800-1100 for parts and labor...

Hmm, I'll use that for negotiation then. I'll have to do some searching on it. I've been looking at DEs and finally found this HR so I don't know all the ins and outs of them. What's the tell tale sign of the Slave failing? I'll search too, but I figured I'd ask since we are on the topic.

Well that's inconvenient then! But other than that, the HR seems to be a lot better of a vehicle than the DE was. Not as much transmission issues and no RevUp oil issues. I'll look into this car more than. Thanks for the help

I'm curious as to did you do any hard launch(s) before clutch stuck to the ground? I bought my car new, and still on stock clutch without ever having this issue (knock on wood), the Z has been good to me.

I bet it does vary from drive to driver because I have 2 friends one with 08' Nismo and the other 370 Nismo and both have had their clutch stuck on them.

Just a heads up... Z1 Motorsports is developing its own replacement for the infamous HR issue:

My 08 is at 53k; bought it July 2013 with 43k, love driving it every day.
