hello , from france ( so bad english ..)
i have instal tomei PONCAM 264° on my 2007 HR
tomei said : no need specific timing ( like in work shop manual ), can be use without ecu remap...)

i do a remap .

engine run fine at idle and after 2000rpm..
but around 1700rpm ( +/- 250 rpm) at very low charge , it have strong hesitation ( sputtering you said)... if i put more trotlle it's ok... but there is some car foward me.. i'm not alone.. ;-)..
engine cold:no problem , engine hot:the hesitations are strong....
i have change oil to test ... same problem... ( cranksaft sensor, camshaft sensor, ignition coil change too ...)
when i unplug the exhausts retarder, the car run very smoothly, a lot of torque... ( so i think the problem come from that...)
1- is it normal with tomei poncam 264°?

2-maybe , my magnet retarder , don't have enought pressure force to done the suitable timing ( cam's may generate more torque on retarder and so , the magnet slip and can't done the correct timing ?)

3-remap need to have acces at VTC management? specific remap soft,

4-i need to replace my magnet retarder ( exhaust ) ?? ( 23795-JK21A )

thank's by advance.... please...
Tangi

Thread got bumped! I started to read the thread, then saw the popcorn fight between gamermods and a few others on 1200whp. Then i realized who Gamermodz is and why there was not update to the thread!

From reports, the car started grenading after a few hundred miles! Gamermod claims "it made 1200whp", but no physical proof in a couple years! But we do know the car blew up!

if you're looking for more of a high end NA setup, without building a bottom end, the 272 would be a nice choice. With the right header (I can't say if stillen fits the bill or not as I don't really know anything about it), and the right state of tune, coupled with headwork, it would be, without question, a killer setup that would dwarf my car (IMHO). But for the guy who wants to do the cams, without having to invest the big dollars into the headwork, the 264 would be my suggestion, as it will give you the best of all worlds

so what if you did a 272 in 264ex setup?
