I understand that more headwork should be done to run the 272 cams "for their full advantage", but how would they run with just aftermarket valve springs?
Would the 264's run better then the 272's since my EMS has no capability to tune VTC? (By "run better" I am reffering to more hp/torque through the powerband.)

Didn't we go over all this already lolol?
If you have talked yourself into 272's, as it seems you have, then go for them. Not my recommendation given everything else you posted (and further reinforced by the fact that your engine management has no ability to alter VTC angles), but it's your car, your money, and ultimately, your choice.

Like I said, you've obviously talked yourself into something, despite all the info provided by myself and others here. Get 'em, tune 'em, and let us know how it goes
IMHO, you're not seeing the forest for the trees. Your concerned with how the car will sound at idle (who cares?), peak power, and everything else under the sun, without being concerned about the rest of your setup, the lack of vtc adjustability on your intended ecu, the lack of headwork, zero mention of the headers (or lack of detail therein). All of which are far more important things to be worried about, as opposed to which may give more peak power, a 264 or 272. For your proposed setup, the 264 would be the one to get. You will not be able to take advantage of what the 272 brings to the table.

Idc about how it sounds at idle. I was worried about the idle since my ecu cannot raise idle to compensate for the lower vaccum. If the lope was too intense then my car would stall.
As for peak power, yes, you are right. I am concerned for peak power. I did not want to buy a set of cams and receive 5 whp, which was why I was leaning towards the 272.
Your also correct that I can't use the 272's to their full advantage which is why I asked If it would make more power vs the 264's without the capability to control VTC and have no other headwork besides the valve springs.
And ty Adam, I appreciate your time for writing all the posts. I'm sure you find me annoying by now

^+1 the right set of cams on an NA car + the required tune may not net you a ton of power like forced induction but what they will definitely do is shift your power band for more torque throughout your powerband.

Or you can go with JWT's cams, or GTM's... (302's)
Are you going F/I?
Is your car a DD?
What are your goals for your car?
Full build?

I would advise you to get your plan thought out on what you want to achieve with your car.
Set your budget on how much you want to spend.
Read this entire thread and others like it on cam's.
Be prepared to spend money.
Rod's, pistons, retainers, springs, EMS that has Valve Timing Control etc.... the amount goes up fast. Install isn't cheap either.
Use the search function, or just google "vq35hr cams" or anything else related and read a lot!
Don't take things lightly. In all honesty, if you want raw power, go F/I...
But for real bro, just read as much as you can...
