Thanks, I'm less concerned that I used to be, as I realized its a cheap part at least. And Yes I'm still running the JWT.
Z1 Performance, I can't remember if you told me this already, but how streetable are the twin clutch systems such as the ATS and OS Giken etc. for stock or near stock hp setups?
Keep us posted on your source's findings. Sounds hopeful.
I'm curious as well
Ataru074, the revised part you mention, is that what the recall replaces the old CSC with? Sounds like Peak350 still had the CSC fail after replacement.
Yes, I had to say I was looking for a 370z slave to get the right part number.

What are the symptoms of the CSC failure? I'm at ~21K miles and my clutch is begining to slip -- revs up a bit as it slips, then grabs and holds. Just doesn't seem to have enough gripping force. I've done a few track days and I drive the car pretty hard, but 21K miles seems pretty early to be having clutch problmes. Interesting to note that the problem is most pronounced in 3rd gear and higher, which seems kinda weird to me.

If your clutch petal feels like its depressed a little already, then that is one sure sign that your csc is starting to go out. I just got mine from the shop yesterday because of that issue. But if it feels weird just go take it to the dealership, they will check it out for you.

Those are signs of the clutch slipping. Higher gears put MORE stress on the clutch as the gearing advantage is less.

CSC failure basically means that you can no longer get the clutch to "disengage" the engine from the transmission, the pedal goes limp and sticks to the floor, and if you pump it, all your clutch fluid will pump out into the bell housing and make a serious mess.

why? most of the F/I guy drop the car for the show from a trailer and pull it back up when it's over.
the few that really track a F/I car have the engine down every 4 track events.. at that point changing also the CSC isn't a big deal.
and so far I don't know about anybody tracking an F/I VQ35HR powered Z

ok.. about the revised concentric slave
at the end of this page you'll see two revised parts:
http://tinyurl.com/mxzxyd
306A1+A and 306A2+B
55.4$ + 25.16$.
if you check for the same on the 370z.. are the same parts and according to them the change was in july 2008.

Z1, the real bad part of few people tracking the Z is...
the Z is a damn capable track car (for the money) and let just say that isn't expensive as other car to "fix" the weak points.

So the ATS clutch/flywheel is only recommended for track use? What about drag? I plan on going F/I very soon and just want to have the supporting mods to go along with it. Due to the CSC problems, I felt that ATS was the best way to go as that would alleviate anymore problems with the CSC. I def plan on going to the drag strip. What clutch/flywheel combo would you recommended for that? If I can get out of paying for the ATS then I'm all for it.

Yes, there is an active recall for the parts that those are to replace. The "hose" is a metal line, its not going to fail, the CSC will most definitely fail, I lost the outer seal in mine. Small rubber seal + intense heat and high pressure = failure.

I know about the recall. I've already had the CSC replaced. Since then it's only stuck to the floor once but that was under hard driving conditions.

for drag I'll get a multiplate metallic... 3 or 4 plates.. just for the ease of engagement and because is going to take a lot of heat.

btw, for track use looks like also exedy did come out with something...
NT02HDMC1 dual carbon clutch.

Z1 any info on this?

carbon/carbon is really best suited for very very high torque, especially in drag use

Mine got stuck two days after a mountain run. I didn't even drive it all that hard afterward and it just started sticking.
