I never drove multidisk clutchs before.

It isn't normal at that high of an rpm.......I wouldn't think. My twin tilton on my honda way back when never had that issue. On my OS single it shutters if you try to accelerate below 1500-1600 rpm's, but I have been told that it is easily cured with ditching the UR pulley.

p.s. how do I get out the air in the system? I did the bleeding thing as the manual said for more than two hours and the pedal still stuck to the floor!!!
Takes two people. Close the bleeder valve, have someone push on the clutch pedal, open bleeder valve, let pressure release, close bleeder valve, release clutch pedal. Give a couple seconds pause for any air in the lines to settle, then repeat a dozen times or so.

The hose that fills the CSC goes in at the top, there is only one connection, so when you push the pedal, it inflates the CSC, air and fluid together. The air will float on top (near the tube), and when you open the bleeder valve, the pressure plate collapses the CSC forcing the air out. It takes a few cycles and the system is air free.

I started with a hose on my bleeder, and ended by letting it spray and make a mess, that I cleaned up with brake parts cleaner.

Actually I was wrong when I drove it today it shutters if I try to accelerate below 2000 RPM and since your OS single it shutters if you try to accelerate below 1500-1600 rpm's I think it's normal here for the quad.

In talking with Adam (z1) I think the shutter in my case can be completely attributed to the lightweight pulley. Once he swapped his out to the ati unit the shutter supposedly stopped.

the shudder my car experienced was only with the lightweight crank pulley, and only when engaging first gear from a dead stop - if I did not perfectly time the clutch pedal release, the car would shake a bit. Sometimes it didn't do it, sometimes it did - it was all dependant on how exact I got the clutch release. Didn't do it all the time, and only happened when initially engaging first gear from a dead stop. When I swapped to the ATI pulley, that sensation went away completely, and the clutch became far less "grabby" as well

Adam,

Do you know the weights of the OSG Alum & Steel flywheels?

OS only offers 1 type of flywheel with their clutches (chromoly) - the flywheels are not sold separately and would not work without the clutch, they are part of the clutch assembly

I think you will be pleased. It's a quality product and Adam is a big help (along with being the best customer service of any vendor on the site).

still not.. I got an "identity" crisis and I almost got a Z06

I need to figure out what the hell I'm going to do:
a) downgrade the niZmo to grocery hauler and get the Z06
b) upgrade the niZmo to full track car and get a grocery hauler

the issue with the Z06 is that sucks with the track duty... you have to drive it slow, otherwise on long left hand sweepers the engine is going to blow for oil surge...
if you drive slow it doesn't happen...

so now you know that if a Z06 survives an HPDE where there are some long left hand sweepers... the driver isn't any good besides flooring it in the straight

looks like the '09 with the improved oil system (like the ZR1) shouldn't have any issue.

Can you do anything (like a multiple pickup system) with the earlier LS7's to prevent this.

I'm familiar with the problem, not the solution.

i think katech makes some add on's / replacement parts for the ls7 dry sump system that gets rid of that problem. you can try calling them to find out...

my vote goes to the z06, i'd get one over the z if i could afford it...

well... the "problem" is that with how much a full katech upgrade will cost on a '06 Z06 you'll buy an '09 and still keep some change...

BUT. the katech system is race proven and you have to upgrade to coilovers doing that for clearance... so you'll end up with a better car.

I don't have the extra 20/25 grand right now
