HR - Aftermarket Clutch & Flywheel
if you're willing to be the guinea pig for this, to see how it holds up under track (hpde and drag racing) use with the stock CSC, i'm willing to pitch in like 50 bucks or something in the name of research. cause we can speculate all we want, but till someone really test it (like i know you can), we won't know if it will work or not.
i really hope it works since its considerably cheaper than the ats option, especially when you figure in the install cost...
anybody else willing to help out in the name of science? *cough*maybe a discount from z1*cough*

LOL, I think given my power levels and track aspirations, I'll make use of the stock stuff and good fluid (motul). Frankly, the lightweight flywheel makes revmatching easy and fun, but everything else is annoying. The JWT is a good stiffness but the CSC can't take it, and everything else is expensive (although an exedy setup would be my choice if I was starting over).
Given how much I've spent fixing clutch issues....I'd rather go back to parts that will re-earn my warranty (go to a different dealer where they don't know I did any of this stuff).
Edit - and $1800 from GTM, so unless it was like $1400-1500 it wouldn't even be on the table for me.
Although a super single would be good, something to be said for getting rid of the flexible bands and getting ridgid blocks to transfer the power.

I'll probably be the guinea pig for the OSG dual... but guys.. not this month... maybe August or early Semptember... I can't simply throw 4K out of the window right now doing all those works and not even go back to the track (probably in october.. is too damn hot down here)
Do you know the clamping force on the pressure plate is?

if you really are going to work on something like that with os giken.. remember to keep the clamping force as the stock to don't blast the csc.
How streetable would the OS twin be on a stock HR?
I was planning on getting a JWT clutch and flywheel, but if that is going to cause the CSC to fail repeatedly, that doesn't sound like a good option.
I track my car a few times a year, but it is primarily my DD. Anybody have any educated suggestions for a new clutch? Is ATS a viable solution for a DD, other than the price?

Just installed the OS GIKEN QUAD today and I will do a review about that in a couple of days, as soon as I get used to it.
p.s. how do I get out the air in the system? I did the bleeding thing as the manual said for more than two hours and the pedal still stuck to the floor!!!

Carbonetic / ATS carbon clutches are very streetable.

That page shows Superautobacs in Japan seems to be happy with the carbon clutch for both street and race track.

The OSG is a nice clutch for around town use - easy pedal effort, and very low noise, but will hold a ton of torque, and would easily cope with the stresses of road racing
The ATS one is also a good choice, albeit more expensive both upfront, as well as when it comes time for rebuilds
