One word question: why?

Hope the answer isn't: "to save money".

This is an interesting "swap" to me. As others (and you) have said, "not plug and play" but breathes new life into the car if all the ancillary pieces are there. In for the finish!

When there's a will, there's a way.. Don't forget to replace your hood, too.. and then get a custom license plate that says, WUZA DE.

Wow- so you bought the entire front clip off a HR-equipped Z to complete this swap? Radiator, steering rack, starter, intakes, and fuel lines are different, as we detailed in issue #12 of Nissan Sport Magazine. But that's not even the hard part- diagramming the wiring harness differences and pin outs to make the ECM, BCM and ABS computers work together is a ***** and a half. My SCCA Touring 1/2/3 Z33 racecar works OK, but a street car is a whole different deal.

So now you can go back and buy the rest of the parts you need to complete this swap. It'll be easier to know you need to swap the steering racks in order to get the HR in. Like I said, the parts are not the biggest problem, the bigger problem(s) will come when you try to integrate both electrical systems together. Nissan engineered the DE and HR differently and their electrical systems are significantly altered.
