Default Trans Problems? Future trans upgrade. List of trans that fit 08

Hey guys i have a 2008 touring 350z. When I take off in first there's this weird grinding noise, more like a crunch but it goes away at around 1900 rpm. Also when sitting still in neutral with the clutch out, it sound like rocks in the trans, but with the clutch in it goes away. The sound is steady and doesn't change rhythm. It just gets louder when taking off in first, then goes away fully at 2000 rpm. The sound doesn't happen when cruising unless it's under 1900 ( I don't regularly cruise at that rpm) ive heard It could be clutch chatter, to throw out bearing to syncros.
Soon I want to change trans anyway cause it doesn't like to downshift fast. Is there any way a CD009 could fit? If not, whats your guys recommendation on a trans that can handle the abuse of hard driving?(fast shifts) I've heard 370 trans can fit 08s how good are they? Start a conversation, I'm interested in learning. Please help if you can to help me figure out the noise btw, it's really embarrassing.
thanks guys!

Sound like a cement mixer? If so, you may have a light weight flywheel in there

First off, when did you last check your tranny fluid? What type and viscosity is in there? Next, how's your shifting skills? Can you heel-toe and rev-match accurately? Sometimes it's the driver and not the parts that make the difference.

I believe the 2007 and 2008 350z's have a different transmission than the 2003-2006. That means a CD009 or CD00A won't fit. You should probably search for a salvaged 2007 or '08. You should be able to find something for $450-$1,800.I would pay more for some type of warranty based upon the seller testing the transmission before the sale.

'08 Z33 uses a Nissan JK series transmission. Depending on production date, it's PN 32010-JK400 but more likely 32010--JK41B. Z34 uses the newer EA series transmission. Physically, the JK and EA are interchangeable and they are similar; so the 370Z trans *should* work (but this is a guess...best to check with Nissan directly.) The earlier CD009 - as Spike mentions - used on the DE engine (up to '06 will NOT work as it is physically different and will not bolt up to an HR/VHR engine.

I'm relatively good at heel-toe and rev match, some times I over rev but not often, only when I'm thinking too hard about it lol
I'm not sure of the viscosity. I just bought it only 2 weeks ago from cars connect in tampa. They said all the fluids were drained and filled. So I'll drain them myself and fill them back up and update soon.

Can’t help you much on the grind at take off issue.......

The sound when the clutch is out in neutral is a pretty common issue. My ‘07 has it also. In fact, as I’ve watched a lot of YouTube vids on the 350z, I hear it frequently in the background. You might want to check in with your local Z club and get some input from them also.

My CD009 made that noise. I called it a "howl." It happened exactly as you describe, but was worse in cold weather.
