Default Stuff that makes your rubber shine

Guys,

Whats the stuff people that make your rubber sidewall shine like its a new tire.

I remember when i pick my car up from the the body shop and notice it.

Btw, my freaking brother is using windex to wipe down his car (bmw). Is that safe? I mean the whole car.

Thanks,
tony

First off, this belongs in the Detailing forum.

I use Meguirers Endurance Gel. Gives your wheels a nice new-rubber look, lasts a couple of weeks and does not sling off.

I don't think anybody would recommend cleaning your whole car with Windex. It's too harsh - contains ammonia, alcohol and god only knows what else. It will probably strip off any wax he had
on it.

I use Armorall on my tires and vinyl trim, vinyl interior, etc. It restores the deep original color and it lasts. It's supposed to protect also.

Check out 303 Aerospace. They explain why Armorall is really not good in the long run, as it will eventually dry out plastic and rubber.

Ditto.

Check out this thread:

It explains everything you'll ever want to know about detailing.

This is where I buy my products from.

I was recently a part of the Goodyear Anniversary Display celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Eagle Performance Tires. In preparation for the show, I tried six different types of tire dressings in order to find the glossiest finish for tire sidewalls. Out of No Touch, Zaino Perfect Tire Gloss, Armor All, 3M Professional Tire dressing, Eagle Wet Look and Meguiars new Hot Shine Tire dressing, the Meguiar's gave the highest gloss to the tire sidewall.

Back in my Honda Show days I used Eagle Wet Look - been great to me all these years with my rubber parts and yes Armorall does dry out your rubber after extensive use

Cool Cleaning

I use Turtle Wax 'wet look'; it's very good. I alternate between Mequairs and Turtle Wax for tire shine products (whichever is available at my nearest auto store).

What is best to use on the 350z interior? (dash, console, inside door panels, etc. that won't streak (Meguair's Leather Wipes are 'da bomb' for my seats)!!!!
