So far no problems on/off exit ramps at high speeds am waiting for spring to try out at Putnam Park.
The Camaro SS has 17x9 wheels though.

275s will fit on a 17x8" rim, but the tires don't look right. I have a friend with a mustang cobra, and he runs 275 drag radials on a 17x8. There is considerable sidewall buldge, and depending on inflation, the tread might not sit flat.

The tires I mounted are the widest recommended for the stock rims. One can mount wider tires, but you might run into problems.

The camaro SS and firebird WS-6s do come with 17x9s and 275s. The Z28 comes with 8" wheels and 245s.

Per most manufactures (Yokohama, Goodyear, Kumho, ETC.) Min. rim with for a 275/40/17 is a 17X9. one manufacturer said 8.5 but, only one said that the rest were a minimum of 9 inch wheel.

I have the Kuhmo 712's on my GSR and I'm considering them for the Maxima. Great tire for the money, dirt cheap. They do tend to grab at the road when the pavement isn't even.
