Kingbaby was this a typo? I would not run a 275 width tire on an 8.5" wheel. And you recommended a 19" tire for the rear which is a 18" wheel.

I think he meant 245/35/18 and 275/35/18

Good catch on the 19s...meant 18s....but 275 will fit easily/safely on 8.5 without becoming bulgy.

looking back, I would advise to look into better offset wheels first...trying to close the gap on your car by increasing tire size and inch drop springs is the wrong way of doing it...

Best solution, 55 gallon drum, put all 4 wheels in it , install 1 gallon of gas, then light with fire.


But new wheels , look in the top 100 questions and search around a bit.

I wonder what the standard 245/40 and 275/40 tire combo would look like with a set of 20mm spacers front and back?

255/40 front and 275/40 rear. Look at spacers.

Default +15-25 offset.

Hey all, I had questions that were answered about tire size so now I'm looking for wheels. I currently have MSR wheels and I love the look but they're +40. They currently rub when I turn and I read the FAQs. It says I need +15-25 offset wheels for a 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 setup. I do not want to add spacers.
So my real question is where can I get some for ~150/rim? All the sites I see have +30 and up!
I don't really like unilug wheels but I will get a set if I must.
I really appreciate all the help I got yesterday. Thanks!

Hate to break it to you,you are not gonna find any wheels with an acceptable
offset in that price range.Dude,150 bucks for a 18" wheel is gonna be junk.
You'll find that low end wheels most times will come in a single offset size.
Add spacers if you want them to fit correctly.If you poney up another 200-250
bucks you may find wheels that will offer a offset in the low 20's to the teens.
However,style selection may be limited.I'd thinkyou could find a mesh style
that is similar to what you have.Also,it appears that replacement of your front
tire needs doing.Consider a 255/40/18.It would be a better fit for the front.

Search craigslist. Find a local with wheels that would work wave cash in their face. The usually take it...

Understand your point, but that statement is not really true. For example, 300ZX, RX7, Supra, and many others run high offset wheels, especially in the rear. My 300 has a 10.5 +43 rear with a fatty tire.

I run as high an offset as I can without the wheel/tire hitting suspension parts...

You know...functional.

I should have said +40 is not meant for a 350Z or 370Z lol

I'm sure the question was about a narrow wheel considering that poster was looking at MSR wheels anyway!
