Where should I get wheels then? And which? I'd prefer not to use spacers, and it looks like 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 are the way to go, on which I'd put 245/40R18 & 275/40R18 tires, such as Toyo R888.

I've got a StopTech ST-40 brake kit on the front. Or if someone can recommend tires for my 17" rims instead that won't get destroyed when I don't drive as smooth as Jenson Button at the track.
you should really look at the enkei wheel thread

Post Question about buying new wheels

I had a question when buying rims, I understand my stock rims for the 06 is
225/45/18 front
and 245/45/18 back

but when I'm buying new rims online, I see that after the rim there would be a x8.5 or something, sorry if that REALLY sounds stupid.
Does that matter when buying the rim? or will it fit my tires.

Glad I can be first to answer this very unique question...

You buy wheels for the car....then tires for the wheels!

The numbers 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 are tires sizes.

That 8.5 number is the width of a wheel you was looking at!

http://www.350z -tech.com/wiki/index...Specifications

You want to look for wheels in 18x9, 18x9.5, 18x10...

With offset of +30 or lower...example +25, +20, +15 being a nice stopping point for you.

Continue to search and research then comprehend it before making a decent wheel selection. Also the brand a wheel does dictate it's quality a majority of the time.

Save one noob a day!

For the link delete the space between the "350z" and " - " then copy and paste it into your browse...

The wheel dimensions that you are looking at should determine what tire size you end up with in the end. Your Z can fit wider than 8.5" wheels though so if you're looking to go wider you can.

Wheel dimensions are typically laid out like this: 19x9.5 +22

Diameter: 19"
Width: 9.5"
Offset: +22mm

You could buy wheels to fit the stock tire sizes but they're probably not going to be very flush. Just depends on what you're looking to do with the car. Lots of reading to do!

That's the thing though when I got the car, the tire treds were low, so I bought kumho tires, and they are fairly new. so I can't just buy more tires because it's a lot of money, but how do I find a set of wheels that will fit it? When I go searching to buy rims online the rims usually just say 8.5 but my front and back are different. and I want the same kind.

Just save your money and wait till you need wheels and tires. Yes typucally the Z with aftermarket wheels will run a wider wheel in the rear. You can run the same width, its what i have done on mine.

Default Tire spec question. Help needed.

I'm about to get 18x 9.5 +22 and 18x 10.5 +22 wheels but I want to use my brand new 235/25/18 and 245/45/18 tires. I'm not entirely sure of what it will look like. I don't want then to stretched. If any one has any pictures please part them. If not that can you please give me an idea on what to expect.

First,is that a 25 series tire?Don't think so...Typo?Maybe a 45?
If so,and the other tire listed(stock rear size),too small for the width
of these wheels.Don't need a pic. You'll have sidewalls on a angle instead
of flat.Your car will look like a old pickup that a guy put super wide wheels
and used stock tires.For those wheels I'd suggest,255/40/18 front,275/40/18
rear.

Get sideways and burn them old tires off. Simple and easy , the will fit your new wheels, but will have some HellaGay stretch

If you have nice wheels sell the tires, or sell the tires and buy new ones.. It's your car.

I think the front size you ask about is a typo. That width should be a 45 series.

Both the front and back tires will be streched on the wheels you are buying.

Huge question. Im getting 18x9.5/10.5 +22 but want to keep my current tires which are 225/45/18 and 245/45/18. Is this even possible. Are there any pictures out there that can show me what it will look like. Much appreciated.

It's possible but would look stupid. Get the proper size tires... which 1 common setup is 255/40/18 and 275/40/18

Wouldn't that setup give me more of a meatier look? I'm looking for a mild stretch look.

So I got 18" Gram light 57 pro, +25 18x10. Planned to use 245/40 in front and 275/40 rear. Should I go with 5mm spacer in the rear or should I go 5mm front and back since the wheels are all the same offset and size?

5mm won't make a significant difference, install them and see what you like, they're usually dirt cheap anyways.
