AP Racing BBK owners, what wheels are you running?
I picked up the AP3700 / AP3750 combo a couple weeks ago and was having it installed today. My shop called, they intalled the first caliper on the rear and its not clearing my wheels. I have the GT-7's in a 19x9.5 +30 front and 19x10.5 +24 rear. I didn't bother to measure before install mainly because I didn't have an opportunity to do it, and I assumed there was enough clearance from the looks of it. When I bought the wheels, I was told they'd clear all BBK's. Which is probably true for most, like the Brembo's or other setups with thinner calipers.
Well, measuring for clearance > me.
I don't want to sell the brakes, so I'm left looking for new wheels. You guys that are running the kit, can you give a little insight to what type of wheels you are running, size and offset? Will help make it easier for me to narrow down my search and find something I like that will work. TIA.

grrr..sorry to hear about that. The GT-7 should clear with that offset, but I suspect that you dont have the "high pad" type wheel in the rear. if you need a little of clearance, a precision wheel spacer would work. Make sure to use longer studs..as most of the spacer kits come with the larger studs as well. I know the purests would say that wheel spacers are not a good idea, but I havent had issues with them.

Part of the problem is when I bought the wheels spring of last year, they were the last set Mackin had in their warehouse so I didn't really research the BBK clearance as much as I should've then, I just jumped on them so I wouldn't have to wait 3-6 months to get another set of DB GT-7's because they were the size I wanted.

although not ideal, a spacer might help.
TE's and CE's tend to have the best caliper clearance, or you might need to look into something custom like HRE, fikse, kinesis, etc.

Thanks for the input so far everybody. Just got off the phone with my shop and while they weren't able to figure out exactly how much space I would need they estimated between 10-20 mm. I'd probably order both sizes so I could figure out which one works best then see about returning the one that I didn't need.
The part that concerns me most about spacers is my current width / offset. If I end up needing the 20 mm spacer, that pushes me out to a 10.5 +4. With either size, I'll need immediate fender rolling because my 275 PS2s are very close and it'll probably rule out going to 305 after I go FI this winter.
I don't think I could get new GT-7's for the rear other than special order in the approprate setup. I'm not even sure if they offer Diamond Black as an option anymore. I do have a potential buyer for my wheels already, part of why I'm leaning that way at the moment.

Looking at the Rays sizing charts again, there's a 19mm difference in clearance between the pad type I have, and the pad type I need. Combining that with the info I got from my shop, I'm feeling like I'd need a 15mm spacer at the bare minimum to be safe. 20 to be definite. I don't think I want to push my wheels out that far.
