Unofficial Enkei Wheels Thread
OK - So I have just read through all 30+ pages of this thread. It seems that there are some differing opinions of whether you can get away with a 18X10.5 +15 all the way around without rolling the fenders. I want a set of the blue RPF1s, which I can only find in a 18X10.5 +15, but have no interest in rolling the fenders. I plan to go with 275/35/18 BFGoodrich KDW tires. Am I going to be rubbing all the way around? I have the Hotchkis TVS stage 1 setup, which is a less than 1" drop. Daily driver, but I auto-x every other month or so.
I could go for the PF01 in black, which I can get in a 9.5 +15, but I just really dig the blue. Either way, I have to get rid of these SSR GT3s I have now. Way too "blingy" and too tucked in.

I have the stock alignment setup. I am within spec on the rear (i think it was -1.1), and just outside stock on the front at -1.7. I would love to be able to pull off a 285, but I have a feeling I will already be pushing it with the 275. Thanks.
I have personally seen 275s rub on a Z with 9.5 +15s. It was only lowered. It needed the fenders rolled. They were Kumho XS 275s.
Me too, but it was with Nitto Invo's and Nitto 555's.
gawd those things are OOOoooglyyy, i have heard people can get away with CCW or whatever center caps, they sit flush with the wheel and dont stick out...just gota buy the right size cap but they look really nice..just do some research, im too lazy to look for the info haha
Perhaps I am just obsessing waaaay too much over this, but I just do not want to make the wrong choice on this one (already made the wrong choice once). After talking to several people, I have resigned to going with the 18X9.5 now. In looking at the tire calculator, it seems that a 255/40-18 front and 275/40-18 rear are the closest rolling diameter to stock, and should cause no issues with ABS or anything. The 35 is 4.1% faster than stock in the rear, which I am being told could cause issues with the ABS system (don't have VDC). With an aspect ratio of 40, methinks I am increasing the odds that I will have to roll the fenders, which I am trying to avoid. The SSR GT3s that I have on the car now are a 275/35-19 in the rear, on a 19X10 with a +24 offset, and they do not look right because they sit too far inside the fender (fronts are much worse on a +38 19X8.5). I plugged the numbers into the offset calculator I found in another thread (http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp), and it looks like the 9.5 is only pushing out about .1" from what I have now, and the 10.5 would only be about .6" farther out.
SO... I guess the question is - the ones that you guys have seen rub on a 9.5 with a 275, were the cars lowered alot? My car is lowered less than 1" on Hotchkis TVS springs. Am I worrying too much about this whole rolling thing? The guys in the shop where I work seem to think it is no big deal, but everyone else is telling me horror stories and saying it will destroy resale (if I ever wanted to sell it). Am I worrying too much about this wheel speed differential thing? Is a square setup better since I have adjustable sway bars? Is 275 going to be too wide for a 9.5" wheel (looks right on the 10" wheel on the car now)?
I really want these RPF1s, and I HAVE to ditch these GT3s, but this is making me effing crazy. I have been spending hours nightly reading threads and looking at pics. I need a drink.

Do you find not being able to rotate your wheel/tire setup is worth it considering the small difference between the front and rear tires (in size)? How do you like the performance? Does the rear tire fill out the fenderwell better being a 275? I'm debating between going square and being able to rotate versus staggering...
