Default Some wheel & tire questions

Ok, I've done my best to research and figure most of this out on my own, but there is still a few things that aren't clear to me.

I'll start off with my current setup:

2004 Touring 5AT w/ the following wheel setup (Stock):

Front
Size: 17x7.5
Offset: +30mm
Weight: 23.26lbs
Tire: 225/50/17

Rear
Size: 17x8.0
Offset: +33mm
Weight: 24.14lbs
Tire: 235/50/17

So my understanding is that the back tire has to be slightly bigger than the front in order for VDC to remain happy. (I'm guessing the same holds true for TCS which is what I have) I've also read from one of the other threads that your tire size must remain within 3% of the original specs.

Front:
So going from a 225/50/17 (81.2 in) to a 245/40/18 (80.2) in the front would be 81.2 in - 80.8 in =.5% difference smaller than stock. So that swap wouldn't cause any problems, right?

Rear:
Going from 235/50/17 (82.5 in) to a 275/40/18 (83.8 in) in rear would be 1.6% larger than stock. (I'll spare you the math this time. :P) So that would be fine as well, right?

Next I'd be looking at changing the actual wheels. I really like the Rota P45R's or Torques. Something with 18x9.5 with +20-25mm offsets. I kinda wanted the aggressive "flush with the body" look. Would those be the correct offsets to use, or should I be looking at some spacers as well.

Would the 18x9.5 all around work, or would I need to do a staggered 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear to be able to use the 245/40/18 & 275/40/18 setup?

Would the 18x9.5 all around work? Yes.

I do not recommend a 245 mm tire on a 9.5 inch wheel.

275/35/18 works well in the front

Maybe some 8.5's would work better for the front then?

^^ Yes.

F 18x8.5"/R 18x9.5" wheels for F 245/40-18" and R 18/275/40-18" tires is about "ideal."

Awesome! Thanks for the info.

Guess I'll have to contact one of the sponsors about buying soon.
