Default ABS and SLIP lights came on

My ABS and SLIP light came on this morning and stayed on. I was driving in a straight line, no turns.. Turned the car off for a few minutes, then back on. Lights remain on. I was running 245/35/19 25.8" diameter and 275/35/19 26.6" diameter and never had a problem. I replaced my rear tires with 285/35/19 26.9" diameter about 1500 miles ago. I used the Tire/wheel size calculators from this thread https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/203755-will-these-tires-work-with-my-vdc-enabled-car-read-here.html
and it's not showing me the percentage of difference in size. I'm wondering if this is even the problem... Any ideas guys?

sorry, thats probably not it then, just a common cause of brake+slip+abs light.

I do not see a problem with tire size and VDC.

do you mean I possibly need new brake pads? I don't think I do. When I had my new tires put on, I took a look all the way around the car. all the pads had plenty of material left. -I didn't look at the insides though.. I wouldn't think they would wear that unevenly though, as I did have a lot of material left.

how long ago did you put your tires on? if you put new rears without fronts that could be your problem too

The inside pads wear faster. I had about a 1/4 of material left on the outside pads but the inners were down to the backing. New pads in, the problem went away.

That's really weird... shouldn't just the BRAKE light on your dash come on? Dunno why the ABS/SLIP lights would appear. Did your traction control still work and did ABS work?

The ABS and SLIP are directly related to the brakes. They will not work properly when the piston has been extended to far, ie brakes are worn.

Correct and correct. Inside pad is far more worn than the outer. I filled the brake fluid back to max (it was half way in between min and max) and the light went off. I'll be changing out my rear brakes this weekend, hopefully.

thanks guys

I expect you already know, but watch you dont overflow your reservoir now that youre topped off and will put pushing your pistons back in with the pad change.

had this happen to me today, ironically while i was driving to porterfield to get new brake pads. i'm also hearing some noise coming from the master cylinder. i first though it was the machine shop at the brake store but i heard it again when i took my car to west covina nissan. they wanted to charge me to diagnose the problem so i left. i'll change the pads first and take my car in if the problem still exists.
