Default white letters on the sidewalls

as i was watching the le mans series today i thought...why dont the tire companies make low profile tires with the name of the company painted, you see it all the time with larger tires for trucks and SUV's. i think this would look great and give your car that racecar look especially with darker wheels. if anyone has any thoughts please contribute, i want to know what others think.

You can always buy the tire marker pens and do your own letter coloring...although this tends to look pretty cheesy. On my bike my Pirelli Corsas came from the factory with yellow lettering but it was built into the tire somehow. Looks like *** when the tires get used and dirty haha.

I've also seen 'em blue & red, which look slightly better than white.

I thought that RWL tires stopped back in the 70's, just shortly after gangster whitewalls, bell bottom pants and disco.

Dear DavesZ#3: As you well know, mores are a cyclical thing. They come & go, as the seasons of the year. Perhaps RWLs are undergoing that cycle!

When we all drove around on 13 and 14" 70 series tires, then RWL tires looked great on a muscle car. Sport cars with 30 and 35 series tires just won't have that same look.

I guess because we're not trying to advertise our tires like race cars do. When you see letters on SUV's and trucks, it's usually a certain part of the market. (Like Off road trucks)

Modern performance cars come in so many flavors: sports sedans, exotics, sports coupes, roadsters, wagons..etc. Tire companies are going try to hit all those segments so the they won't make a race "looking" street tire in hopes that it will sell.

For example: I've seen Michelin PS2's on everything from a street rally-car to a Bugatti Veyron. They can't slap the letters on the tires and hope to hit both sides of the spectrum. It's not like the muscle-car era where they have a big market of folks going for the same look.

Just my thoughts.

Keep in mind that a lot of tires used to be available in all three forms, RWL, RBL, and neither.

definitely belongs on a 60's and 70's era muscle car. not on a modern sports car
