Default offsets noticable?

with the human eye looking at a wheel.......can you tell the difference between a 18x8+25 and a 18x8+45

sorry if this is a stupid question.

its not about concavity, though some wheel manufactures will do that, say if its a 5 spoke wheel design...ill try and find one.

but offset is the distance from wheel centerline off the hub!

our cars you typically want +15 to +25 max on most wheels in those widths.

+25 will be tucked on 8" wheels
especially on the rear.

do it right the first time and get good offsets

HERE YA GO! https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/340987-new-wheels-pics.html

take a look at this thread! look at the 2nd picture on post #6. you can tell that the fronts wheels are flat but the rear wheels are concaved in! if you read his first post you can see they are +25 offset for both! but the fronts are a smaller WIDTH.

I recommend you let us know what wheels your talking about and we might know? or go check them out in person before you buy?

to me your best bet if your gonna buy these wheels your thinking of, get them all 4 in +25. but you more than likely are gonna want 10 mm spacers for the rear to be good.

1 - will you be looking at the wheels mounted on a car?

actually it doesn't matter. if it's on a car, the lower offset sticks out further. on a Z a 45 I don't think would even fit.

if they are off the car, the offset is stamped on the back of a spoke on almost every wheel I've ever seen. if not you can take some measurements.

thankf for the pics jasonz-ya that give me a better idea. i'm not 100% sure what wheel i'm getting yet, but i've seen some online that say they are 18x8+25 all around. i really like the wheel look on the rear on that pic i would like to have that look on all 4 tires....the whole cocave thingy around looks pretty tight

If you put a 18 x 8 with 25 mm offset on the right rear
And a 18 x 8 with 45 mm offset on the left rear
The 20 mm difference would be noticeable.

25 on a 8" inch is bad, 45 on a 8" wheel is horrible.

don't be a loser: get some real rims. an 8 inch wide rim is way too tiny, and those offsets are terrible.

stock offset is +30 on a 8 inch rim. you should never, ever go lower than stock offset. you can see how stupid stock rims look on a lowered car, can't you?

if you are dead set on a 8 inch wheel go: 8.5F +15, 9.5R +15
