Default new 19"s causing tire pressure sensor light to turn on

anyone else have this problem? I just put a set on, without the TPMS, and on longer trips (1-3 hours) the tire pressure sensor light on the left-most gauge pod will light up. really weird, never had this problem, and the tires are inflated just fine...

You've answered your own question. New wheel without TPMS will cause the light to light up.

You should of taken them out of the old wheels that had them, and put them in the new wheels.

i have a near-new set of tires on the OEM's that i didn't want to take off, take the sensors out of, put the tires back on, and then put the sensors on the new rim, then do all those steps again, once i change wheels in winter. its looking like im screwed and will just have to buy a set of TPM sensors. just dont feel like spending another 200. is there ever an in-expensive, simple modification that will ever go just as planned?

There are no sending units in the wheels? I guess that would be it.

make sure if you do get an extra set of tpms that they are compatible with the new wheels. may have to get adapters as well. i believe Forged makes them.

also, i put my sensors on my Volks. Fronts read ok (just a bit under what the actual pressure is) but my rears work only on occasion. Had them reprogrammed as well. Someone mentioned it may be due to the larger wider wheel? (19x10.5 rears)

Wheel size shouldn't have anything to do with them functioning or not. I, like many others have 19" volks, 9½/10½ and have no problems with the sensors or the system.

I don't have a set of TPMS sensors in my summer or winter wheels, so the yellow warning light is on my dash all year round. It just stays on, doesn't blink or do anything annoying, and I've learned to live with it. In fact I don't even really notice it anymore. I think you'll survive and it's probably not worth spending all the money to get new TPMS sensors, unless it bothers you that much. Just get into the habit of periodically checking your tire pressure the old fashioned way.
