Thanks for the reply. Are the RS3s a lot better than the V12s that most people have? Also the wheel I'm looking at is the SSR Professor. Not sure if people here like SSRs but if you have a better alternative for Meister-esque wheels chime in lol.

Better for traction yes. The RS3 is a much softer tire and has a wider tread compared to a V12 of the same size. If you track your car or only drive it on the weekends I'd go that route. V12's won't wear as fast, are better on wet roads, cost almost 1/2 of what an RS3 does, and are perfect for a DD.

Not quite 1/2 the price, $192 for the V12, $293 for the RS3.

I guess in the smaller sizes it's not double. I just looked again since it's been a year since I've bought tires and in 305/30-19 it's still double. V12 is $238 and RS3 is $467 on tirerack. I couldn't justify the price difference just for driving my car back and forth to work.

I DD my car every day but also do a fair amount of autox. Almost every other weekend from May-October. I got the same prices you did scott (285-35-18). You think the extra 100 is worth it for my purposes? Also is there a "width" difference with the 2. I was under the impression that the V12s were on the "thin" side. As opposed to like an r888 which is "wider".

They will amaze you as an autocross "street" tire... seriously worth it.

I had the RS2's on my Civic and they were amazing when warmed up, I cant imagine how the RS3's will handle with a wider size.

Quick question before I order my front tires today. I purchased Nitto Invo 305/30-19's for the rear (19x10.5 +20 wheels) and for the front I am stuck between 265/30-19 or 275/30-19.

Wheel spec's for the front are 19x9 +15 offset. What would be the best size to get?

If it was a 9.5" wheel I'd say 275/30's for sure. Definately wouldn't do the 265/30's because the sidewall is smaller and overall diameter is smaller. Maybe consider 255/35's? But then you've got front tires that are 5 sizes smaller...

I guess you have to decide on what's more important, looks or performance. I wouldn't want a front tire that looks fatter on the wheel than my rear does.

Damn. Already ordered the 265's after seeing Rober K's setup of 305/30 rear and 265/30 fronts. His setup looks great.

I called and had my order changed to 275/30's. Discount tire said they would be ok on my 9in wide wheels with my 305's out back.

Good call, 265/30 on a 9.5 is too small IMO

Don't always trust them. I had a manager argue with me that 225s would not fit on a x7 wheel for my wife's car. He would not mount it at all so I got his name, called corporate and they reamed his ****.

Ah, even better in that case. Most 275/30's I see on 9.5's tend to look slightly stretched compared with a 305/30 on a 10.5". Im assuming youre trying to make front and rear look as even as possible, if so you should be money. In for results!

275 is definitely not stretched on a 9.5....
