TPMS light turned off, but not sure why
I have a 2006 Z, and have had my Enkei wheels on my car for the last 6 months. These wheels don't have TPMS sensors in them, and I have had the TPMS (!) lamp on in the dash during this whole time... that's normal...
But today for some reason, my dash was clear of any warning lights; the (!) was gone. I checked the gauge pod on the center of the dash for the tire pressure, and it is obviously still showing '---' for tire pressures.
Is there any reason why the (!) warning light on the dash should turn off? The weather 'warmed up' to a balmy 40 deg F today... but i doubt that would make any difference...

Normally, if you turn the car off, the light will be off when you start it back up.
If you drive constantly for 30 minutes without stopping, the light will illuminate again since by then it has finally given up on looking for the sensor readings.

It flashes on for a moment, and then turns off, while all the other lights (BRAKE, TCS, Service Engine Soon, etc) stay on, until I start the car. I would say it behaves like it normally should if the TPMS sensors were in the wheels...
I guess I'm not really concerned, just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Also, wondering if the TPMS sensors will read correctly if I mount my stockers back on at some point....

i read that the ! light was supposed to turn off everytime you shut the car off, and turn back on after 30 minutes of driving everytime you turn the car back on.
Mine came on after 30 minutes of driving the FIRST time after i took the tpms out, and it has never turned off!

Its pretty normal..........I own many different wheel sets and havent had the sensors on my car for long periods of time at any given time after a track event.
the light will come on and after a while will turn off............but, everytime i put the sensors back on any given set of wheels it works again of course.
no worries.....no bulb burned out or anything like that......its just that its figured out that they are not there and didnt trigger...........thats all...

i had tpms sensors and drove my car to trade wheels with a guy. the new wheels didnt have my sensors in them and on the way home it never once lit up. the next day it lit up and did that obnoxious *** beep for like 5 minutes. ive been through two sets of wheels with no tpms since then and it hasnt come on since. ive been curious like you OP. not really concerned just kind of confused.
